Best Of TV Awards 2015 - WINNER - Best Director - CHRIS FISHER "If-Then-Else" (Person Of Interest)2/22/2016 The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Director is Chris Fisher "If-Then-Else" (Person Of Interest). For the first time ever, Best Director & Best Episode are a match. Chris Fisher directed the Best Episode winner "If-Then-Else" from Person Of Interest. The 11th episode of the season for POI garnered a lot of attention from everywhere. The comparisons to Groundhog Day, the kiss between the two shows lead females and the suspense of if they killed off a main character or not had a lot of people talking about this episode all year. Mixed in was slow-mo replays that showed the viewers how fast the Machine was thinking through all possible outcomes. Maybe my favorite little gag in it was when the Machine decided the simulation needed to go faster, so instead of us hearing each characters dialogue, we got them telling us a literal description of what they would have been saying. Fisher frequently had to film the same scenarios multiple times, but make them look "very similar, but slightly different" each time. All in all, a spectacular episode all around. His victory comes at the cost of the 2 time winner Jensen Ackles from Supernatural trying for his 3rd Directing award for "The Bad Seed". Both Ackles and Lexi Alexander "Beyond Redemption" from Arrow who nabbed 3rd marking the 2nd consecutive 3rd place finish for an Arrow director, had leads earlier on. Fisher took over the lead permanently in the final two days of the vote. In 4th, for a 2nd consecutive year Thomas J. Wright from Supernatural , this time for "Baby". Garry A. Brown "Melinda" Agents Of SHIELD nabbed 5th. Michael W Watkins "Tom Connolly" The Blacklist was 6th, Greg Nicotero "Conquer" The Walking Dead was 7th . John Fawcett "History Yet To Be Written" Orphan Black was 8th. Steve Shill "The Darkness And The Light" The Flash was 9th. Gregory Smith "Home Run" Rookie Blue got 10th. Complete Results

Arrow has 2 of the top 3, including John Behring for "Unthinkable" as the top vote getter, narrowly beating out 2012 winner Jensen Ackles for "Soul Survivor" on Supernatural. Douglas Aarniokoski on "Seeing Red" rounds out the bookends of the Arrow Supernatural Arrow trio. Amanda Tapping managed 2 finalist spots with her 2 part Continuum episodes. Besides 2012 winner Ackles, Pamela Fryman "How Your Mother Met Me" is the only other previous contender for Best Director, making the semi-finals last year. Last years winning show Glee, had no finalists this year as their 2 semi-finalist contenders did not advance. The Best Episode category, aka - "favorite Supernatural episode" in the years past could be a hard one to predict. Supernatural is well represented in the finals. SEVEN finalists for the 3X Winning show, Arrow and Lost Girl managed 5, while Castle has 4. While it would SEEM to be a safe bet with Arrow & Supernatural dominating the top 8 spots that they are a shoe in to win, theres then the fact that in the finals the amount of challengers you can vote for will be limited to 2 or 3. Vote splitting is always a problem when a show shoves too many of its challengers into a finals. Perhaps The Flash or Murdoch Mysteries with their 1 singular nominee will win because their fans will not be split on who to vote for. Also, an error occurred in listing for a couple days of this category. One of the Arrow finalists, The Secret Origins Of Felicity Smoak was mistakenly listed as Draw Back Your Bow for awhile, so if you voted for DBYB & wonder where it is.... is was changed to TSOOFS during the round after the error was noticed. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE |
