The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Sexiest Actress is Amy Acker. This years winner has been on somewhat of a rollercoaster whirlwind of success in 2015. Amy Acker, who plays deranged Root on the CBS hit show "Person of Interest" has garnered a lot of fan love in the past year. Besides her first BOTVA, Acker's character won our annual May Madness Favorite Character tournament last year, as well as Spoiler TV's version of it , the Character Cup. As well she has at least 1 more award coming this year. Acker a recurring role on Con Man and a 2 episode guest spot on Suits. The 39 year old actress beat out a trio of former winners in Emily Bett Rickards (2014), Jennifer Lawrence (2013) and Stana Katic (2012) for the award. The two leaders Acker, and Rickards leapfrogged each other a couple times during the voting, with Acker actually being behind by 11 votes at the start of the last day of voting. But, as we will see several more times in this years awards, last day voting pushes made the difference in the end. The 2014 winner Emily Bett Rickards finished 2nd with a notable lead over the 2012 winner Stana Katic who finished 3rd. Perennial top 4 finisher Zoie Palmer nabbed 4th, making it her 5th time in the top 4. Gillian Anderson, hot off her return of The X-Files nabbed 5th in her 1st ever Sexiest Actress BOTVA appearance. Scarlett Johansson in her 2nd consecutive finals slipped 1 spot this year to 6th. The 2013 Winner Jennifer Lawrence dropped two spots from last years 5th place finish to 7th this year. Sarah Shahi in her 1st ever Sexiest Actress appearance took 8th. Lana Parrilla dropped 2 spots from last years 7th to finish 9th this year. Jennifer Morrison dropped 1 spot from last year to take the final spot in the top 10. Anna Silk, Katrina Law, Kat Dennings, Yvonne Strahovski, Jenna Coleman, Anna Torv & Jamie Chung all made the finals this year again after being there last year. While Grace Park, Hayley Atwell & Elizabeth Henstridge made the finals for the 1st time. Complete final results

Person Of Interest finds itself in the finals for a 5th consecutive year, 4th time in this category (plus 2011 New Program category), they will try to improve on their all time best 5th place finish & their 2nd in the semi-finals bodes well for that happening. Last years runner up and former 2X category winners Castle are again in the mix with a 3rd place finish in the semis. Hannibal finds themselves back in the finals for a 2nd time, looking to improve on their 7th place finish last year. Criminal Minds stays in the finals, making it an unprecidented 6th finals appearance in this category. Still hoping to get their 1st win, with a 2nd & 3rd in the past few years. Hawaii Five-0 is back for their 5th finals. The Blacklist is in their 2nd straight finals. Rookie Blue is in the finals for a 2nd time, their last appearance was in 2013. Gotham and How To Get Away With Murder find themselves in the finals for the first time in this category. Last year they both made it in the New Program category. Rizzoli And Isles makes the finals for the first time in any category. The Best Action or Drama Actor Category will not have a repeat winner as last years winner Christopher Gorham "Covert Affairs" is not eligible this year. There are two former Winners in the mix though. The 2013 winner John Barrowman "Arrow" is once again back, along with his shows star Stephen Amell, who led semi-final voting (as he did last year as well) and Paul Blackthorne for his 2nd time. The 2012 & 2011 winner Nathan Fillion "Castle" who is joined this time by 1st time finalst Jon Huertas from his show. Mads Mikkelsen & Hugh Dancy "Hannibal" both are back for a 3rd consecutive finals. Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson "Person Of Interest" are back in the finals, caviezel for his 3rd time (missing last year) and Emerson for his 2nd (first time since 2012) along with their cast mate Kevin Chapman making his 1st finals. Yannick Bisson "Murdoch Mysteries" makes the finals for the 2nd time. Alex O'Loughlin "Hawaii Five-0" is back for his 4th finals. Ben McKenzie "Gotham" returns to the finals for his 2nd year in a row, along with 1st time finalist from the show Robin Lord taylor. James Spader "The Blacklist" slips into the last spot of the finals, making it his 3rd consecutive finals. In the finals for the first time, along with Huertas, Chapman and Taylor are Rami Malek "Mr. Robot" and Charlie Cox "Daredevil" in their shows 1st year. The Best Action or Drama Actress Category had last years winner leading the semi-final voting as Emily Bett Rickards "Arrow" led by a wide margin, her co-stars Katie Cassidy & Willa Holland also made it for the 2nd time each. The former 3 time winner Stana Katic "Castle" was 2nd and will be joined this year in the finals by co-star Molly Quinn for her 1st time. The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards is under way. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days.. Voting, and a complete list of nominees in all categories can be found HERE The 2015 Best Of TV Awards are about to start the Finals soon. The 6th annual BOTVA's are still closing out some polls for the run off round before we advance to the finals. We've already shattered the previous record for votes in the first round combined. With over 487,000 votes. The 2015 BOTVA's all time record of 575,000 votes in a year looks sure to fall as we passed the 560,000 vote mark in the semi-finals & nearly broke the 570,000 mark. Here are the complete results (BOLD nominees have qualified for the Finals) SEXIEST ACTRESS Emily Bett Rickards 1081 Amy Acker 736 Sarah Shahi 521 Zoie Palmer 294 Anna Silk 245 Scarlett Johansson 165 Lana Parrilla 154 Gillian Anderson 152 Jennifer Lawrence 148 Hayley Atwell 127 Stana Katic 121 Katrina Law 82 Jennifer Morrison 79 Yvonne Strahovski 72 Elizabeth Henstridge 61 Anna Torv 55 Jenna Coleman 50 Kat Dennings 49 Jamie Chung 48 Grace Park 47 Rose McIver 43 Katie Holmes 35 Jennifer Love Hewitt 34 Saoirse Ronan 30 Molly Quinn 23 Melissa Rauch 20 Aly Michalka 19 Deborah Ann Woll 19 Sarah Silverman 15 Charity Wakefield 12 Sexiest Actor Stephen Amell 780 Mads Mikkelsen 203 Jim Caviezel 196 Jared Padalecki 180 Chris Hemsworth 146 Chris Evans 129 Jensen Ackles 122 Alex O'Loughlin 95 Chris Pratt 92 Kris Holden-Ried 90 Tom Hiddleston 98 Tom Hardy 82 Benedict Cumberbatch 78 Colin O'Donoghue 78 Grant Gustin 78 Johnny Depp 78 Ian Somerhalder 74 Liam Hemsworth 74 John Barrowman 71 Josh Dallas 70 Nathan Fillion 70 Shemar Moore 70 Idris Elba 53 Hugh Dancy 48 Misha Collins 41 Chris Pine 40 Joshua Jackson 38 Jamie Dornan 37 Tom Cruise 37 Norman Reedus 34 Timothy Omundson 33 Vincent D'Onofrio 30 Philip Winchester 24 Joel Kinnaman 21 Best Non-Human Character or Prop BEAR "Person of Interest" 396 THE MACHINE "Person Of Interest" 361 THE IMPALA "Supernatural" 302 LAZARUS PIT "Arrow" 255 ATOM SUIT "Arrow" 198 THE TARDIS "Doctor Who" 183 THE FLASH SUIT "The Flash" 130 RUMPLESTILTSKINS DAGGER "Once Upon A Time" 116 S.T.A.R. Only finalists last year to miss the mark this year were two of my faves, Molly Quinn & Jennifer Love Hewitt. Despite the finalists list expanding from 16 to 20. Newcomers to the finals this year will include Amy Acker, Sarah Shahi, Gillian Anderson, Hayley Atwell, Elizabeth Henstridge, Grace Park.
The last 3 winners, Emily Bett Rickards, Jennifer Lawrence and Stana Katic are all in this years finals. Along with 4 time top 3 finalist Zoie Palmer. In a rare occurance in these awards, pretty much all the leaders in the nomination round were near the top in the semi-finals. The top 4 in this round, Rickards, Acker, Shahi, Palmer, were also the top 4 in the opening round. As well, Anderson, Silk and Parrilla in the opening round all finished in the top 8 & did so here as well. This is nothing short of rare for these awards, as the opening round often sees 1 or 2 hopefuls being propped up by a couple enthusiastic supporters fall by the wayside in round 2 when the voting is limited to 1 each. Last years winner Emily Bett Rickards had sizable leads in the 1st & 2nd rounds & would seem like a good bet to repeat this year. The Sexiest Actor Category was not so predictable. While last years winner Stephen Amell did lead the semi-final voting, he was an adequate 8th in the opening round. The Nomination round vote leader Mads Mikkelsen continued with trying to make an impact by coming in 2nd in the semi-finals. His co-star, who finished 2nd in round 1, didnt even qualify for the finals. Strange to say the least, its usually not till the finals that fandoms abandon a 2nd choice when voting is streamlined to only 1 or 2 picks. Another top 5 opening round vote getter didnt make the finals, Vincent D'Onofrio, as the power of the small handful of voters he had in the first round couldnt get enough of their fans to follow suit in round 2. Jim Caviezel, Jared Padalecki & Chris Hemsworth round out the top 5 in the semi-finals. Only Caviezel was a top 5 name after round one of voting. Three time winner Jensen Ackles qualified for the finals in 7th, the lowest hes ever come into the finals at. The Best Non-Human Character or Prop category looks poised to potentially have a new winner. The four time winner, The Impala from "Supernatural" seems to have some stiff competition this year. The "Person Of Interest" dog Bear has led the voting in both rounds, with another POI candidate second in both, The Machine. While The Impala did improve from the 1st round to the 2nd round by going from a 5th place showing up to a 3rd place showing & was less than 100 votes behind the leader, this is clearly the first ever sign of any challenge to the defending 4X champions crown. Interestingly the 3rd place finisher in round 1, did not even make the finals, finishing 2nd to last. While the last place qualifier in round 1 finished in the top 5 this round. The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards will be under way with some categories soon. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days.. Voting, and a complete list of nominees in all categories can be found HERE The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Recurring Actress is.... Alaina Huffman "Supernatural"
Alaina Huffman with 624 votes joins the ranks of Julia Maxwell, Rachel Miner & Felicia Day as "Supernatural" alum to win the Best Recurring Actress Award. Just like their male cohorts, SPN has won every single award on the womens side for the recurring categories. Huffman, a repeat finalist in this category, finished 3rd last year. Without Felicia Day or Anna Torv from "Fringe" to compete against this year, she won quite handily ahead of another Supernatural alum Erica Carroll in 2nd with 429 votes. In 3rd, last years 4th place finalist Gillian Anderson "Hannibal" with 361 votes, Anderson held the lead breifly opening day, then was passed by Huffman & never again did the lead change. In 4th was Katrina Law "Arrow" just ahead of "Lost Girl" star Anna Silk in a very shocking 5th. In 6th was last years 5th place finalist, and this years Best Youth Actress winner, Bex Taylor-Klaus from "Arrow". In 7th, another "Lost Girl" actress Ksenia Solo. Finishing 8th was "Murdoch Mysteries" star Arwen Humphries. In 9th was Celina Jade for "Arrow" just ahead of Alex Kingston, also from "Arrow". 1st ALAINA HUFFMAN "Supernatural" 624 2nd ERICA CARROLL "Supernatural" 429 3rd GILLIAN ANDERSON "Hannibal" 361 4th Katrina Law "Arrow" 187 5th Anna Silk "Lost Girl" 171 6th Bex Taylor-Klaus "Arrow" 164 7th Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" 121 8th Arwen Humphries "Murdoch Mysteries" 90 9th Celina Jade "Arrow" 77 10th Alex Kingston "Arrow" 70 The 2014 Best Of TV Awards Semi-Finals are now Closed. The Finals for the 5th annual BOTVA's will begin in early 2015. But 1st we need candidates to compete in the finals. The results below are for the categories of Best Recurring Actor & Actress Vote totals are in RED TEXT Finalists are in BOLD TEXT Best Recurring Actor TAHMOH PENIKETT (Supernatural) 419 TRAVIS AARON WADE (Supernatural) 272 BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH (Sherlock) 243 BRANDON ROUTH (Arrow) 229 CURTIS ARMSTRONG (Supernatural) 183 KRIS HOLDEN-RIED (Lost Girl) 171 J.R. Tahmoh Penikett & Travis Aaron Wade look like they are in a race to see who will will. Of course, if Sherlock fans ever catch on in the finals, dont count out Benedict Cumberbatch, who because of the shortened seasons of Sherlock finds himself in this category without any complaints from his fans. Brandon Routh from Arrow, Curtis Armstrong from Supernatural and Kris Holden-Ried from Lost Girl all seem like they are within striking distance of making a run at the award as well. The Recurring Actress category. Historically known as the "favorite Supernatural Recurring actress" category with 3 seperate winners from the show in the past taking the award may be that again. But unlike on the mens side of the category, there does seem to be someone from outside the show looking to play upset. Katrina Law from Arrow finds herself sandwiched between last years 3rd place finalist Alaina Huffman & Erica Carroll from Supernatural in the top 3. 4th place in the finals went to Gillian Anderson from Hannibal, and she finds herself going into the finals again as a 4th place contender. Last years 5th place finalist Bex Taylor-Klaus from Arrow sneaks into the finals by just 7 votes, making it 3 repeat finalists in this category this year. Anna Silk & Ksenia Solo from Lost Girl made the finals, however last years Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actress Zoie Palmer did not because of the voting penalties. I am going to take a moment here to talk about the voting penalties. I had 1 specific person whine A LOT about this. She went thru the trouble of making a long winded excuse why its unfair to Lost Girl specifically and post it on the blog post about the penalties, then when she was proven wrong with my reply, she took back to twitter (where she had badgered me with dozens of tweets PRIOR to the blog post) to bitch & whine about how unfair it is. She then posted a 22 paragraph rant on tumblr, and was again proven wrong with my 37 paragraph reply, and chose to delete my reply from her posts replies. I have no doubt that if this psycho had spent the same time SUPPORTING her favorites, instead of trying to coerce me to ignore the penalties that the shows fans earned, then perhaps the person most impacted by this, Zoie Palmer, would have made the finals of this category. I am quite confident this particular fanbase was capable of scrounging up 60 or so votes, they certainly do most times. To be honest, I thought even with the penalty levied against her, this was still going to be a cakewalk for the actress. Instead, her fans threw a temper tantrum, told people others they werent supporting these awards (like a person with a few 100 twitter followers is a vital endorsement... I dont even think with my 6000 followers I am a vital endorsement of ANYTHING). This 1 particular psycho spent HOURS trying to coerce, bully and defame me to change my mind. As you can see by the results, I did not. Perhaps her, and her supporters, and the fans of THIS SHOW SPECIFICALLY will understand in the future to read rules, and follow them. Instead of, as she put it "ASSUME" things would be how they want them to be. I openly stated I hope these penalties affect at least 1 of the shows candidates from making a finals just to make sure they understand the severity of their punishment... well, they paid for it big time. Choosing the category that they likely valued the most next to best couple to boycott cost them the chance to see their favorite win back to back years in different categories, to be the 1st non-SPN winner of the category. History could have been made. Instead, they whined. Just like Breaking Bad fans did when the show wasnt eligble for the Emmys 1 year, and Fringe fans did last year when their leads were ineligible for the main actor/actress categories, just as Sherlock fans did this year.....wait, correction. I never heard a peep out of ANY of those fanbases over those. Ok, stepping off my soapbox now. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE The Best Of TV Awards 2013 winner in the category of Best Recurring Actress is Felicia Day "Supernatural". For a 3rd year in a row, a "Supernatural" lady nabbed the award which used to be the "Supporting" award, but was rebranded this year to a more appropriate depiction of the award. Felicia Day reprised her tech savvy, fantasy game loving lesbian character Charlie Bradbury 3 times in 2013 which made her eligible for the Recurring award,, a finalist fr the Guest Star award last year, Day this time won her award with 699 votes. Well back in 2nd, Anna Torv "Fringe" with only 3 episode of the sci-fi hit in the year 2013 was eligible for this award instead of the top sci-fi actress honour. She nabbed 348 votes. In 3rd Alaiana Huffman "Supernatural" with 319 votes. Gillian Anderson "Hannibal" was 4th, Bex Taylor-Klaus "Arrow" was 5th. Amanda Tapping "Supernatural" was 6th. Jamie Chung "Once Upon A Time" 7th. Lisa Edelstein "Castle" was 8th. Sarah Bolger "Once Upon A Time" was 9th. Natalie Dormer "Elementary" was 10th. Bex Taylor-Klaus & Anna Torv both had short leads on day 1, but eventually Felicia Day too the lead & never surrendered it. Felicia Day set a new category record for bvotes with 699, breaking the previous mark from 2012 by Rachel Miner "Supernatural" of 526. Day also set a new record for largest margain of victory with 321. Previous record was 169 by Rachel Miner in 2012. RESULTS 1st FELICIA DAY "Supernatural" 699 2nd Anna Torv "Fringe" 348 3rd Alaina Huffman "Supernatural" 319 4th Gillian Anderson "Hannibal" 295 5th Bex Taylor-Klaus "Arrow" 275 6th Amanda Tapping "Supernatural" 273 7th Jamie Chung "Once Upon A Time" 246 8th Lisa Edelstein "Castle" 220 9th Sarah Bolger "Once Upon A Time" 207 10th Natalie Dormer "Elementary" 186 The Best Recurring Actor And Actress categories for 2013 have been dominated by Supernatural in the past years (both actress & actor titles having gone to them - Maxwell, Sheppard 11 & Miner, Beaver 12) but could there be a new show inning something this year? The recurring actress category looks poised for a non-Supernatural winner this year, if the semi-final voting is any clue. Gillian Anderson "Hannibal" led all actresses in the nomination round, and now in the semi-final voting with 244 votes. Runner up this round was a 2012 Best Guest star finalist Felicia Day "Supernatural" with an even 200 votes. Jamie Chung "Once Upon A Time" came in 3rd at 178 votes. A tie for 4th between Sarah Bolger "Once Upon A Time" & Lisa Edelstein "Castle" round out the top 5. The rest of the finalists are - Amanda Tapping "Supernatural", Anna Torv "Fringe", Alaina Huffman "Supernatural", Bex Taylor-Klaus "Arrow" & Natalie Dormer "Elementary" Missing the finals - Emma Lahana "Haven" by just 4 votes, Summer Glau "Arrow" by just 6 & Caity Lotz "Arrow" 12 back. Finalist last year in the category Yvonne Strahovski "Dexter" was 20 votes out of the finals this year for the same role. Finalist in 2011 in the same category with a different show Magda Apanowicz "Continuum" missed by 37 votes. On the recurring actor side. The Supernatural dominance seems to still be there. Osric Chau "Supernatural" a finalist last year, jumped out to a fast large lead & held on in the semi-finals with 204 votes. Raphael Sbarge "Once Upon A Time" made a late surge from nowhere to take 2nd at 174 votes. John Noble "Fringe" a staple of the best actor category (only 1 of 2 actors to make the finals 4 straight years in a category. Other - Jensen Ackles) in years past, now competing for the recurring role in the shows final season had 109 votes. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau "Game Of Thrones" & David Richmond-Peck "Orphan Black" round out the top 5. The rest of the semi-finalists are - Josh Jackson "Fringe", Richard Madden "Game Of Thrones", James Marsters "Warehouse 13", Adam Copeland "Haven" & Michael Socha "Once Upon A Time In Wonderland". Missing the finals - Matt Frewer "Orphan Black" by just 5 votes, Mark Pelelgrino "The Tomorrow People" by 8 votes & Peter Gadiot "Once Upon A Time In Wonderland" by 11. 2X finalist Michael Cerveris "Fringe" was 20 votes out, finalist last year Sage Brocklebank "Psych" was 37 back. 2011 finalist for a different show Ben Cotton "The Killing" 42 votes back. The finals started January 5, 2014 in some categories. The Recurring categories will open later today. You can vote HERE |
