Alycia Debnam-Carey "The 100" ran away with this years Best Recurring Actress award. Nearly doubling the 2013 winner Felicia Day "Supernatural" in 2nd. ADC managed an interesting double in this category, as she managed two top 10 finishes, also getting 9th for her work on "Fear The Walking Dead". Her character, earlier in these awards finished 3rd in Favorite Character voting, so it is quite evident that fans of The 100 are really loving her work on the series. Felicia Day won this award just 2 years ago, but, couldnt manage another win, as she finished 2nd this year. Camren Manheim "Person of Interest" finished 3rd. Naya Rivera "Glee" in its last year on these awards got 4th just ahead of Caity Lotz "Arrow" in 5th. Ann Mahoney "The Walking Dead" had massive support in the 1st % 2nd round, but with no tweet from the star in the finals reminding them to vote, she finished down in 6th. Michelle Borth "Hawaii Five-0" was 7th, narrowly beating out Katrina Law "Arrow" in 8th. Shantel Vansanten in her brief run on "The Flash" managed to get 9th.  The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Youth Actress is Chandler Kinney "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street". Chandler Kinney "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" came in as a write in candidate to win this years Best Youth Actress Award. Kinney finished 3rd in the opening round as a write in candidate, and followed that up in the semi-finals with a 2nd place showing to show she was no fluke. Kinney narrowly won by 6 votes over 2013 winner and last years runner up Maisie Williams "Game Of Thrones" who I will fully admit, I was so sure would win I had already written up a write up a post for her as she was leading by 11 votes with a day & a half left & seemed to be pulling away. In 3rd was another "Gortimer Gibbons" actress Ashley Boettcher giving this childrens show two of the top 3 finalists here. Sasha Pieterse "Pretty Little Liars" was down 1 spot from last years 3rd place finish to nab 4th. Camren Bicondova "Gotham" looked like a challenger after the opening round, finished 5th in the finals. In 6th was Olivia Steele-Falconer "Once Upon A Time". This years winner for Favorite Program, Person of Interest, was not even a nominee last year, and prior to this win had never made it past the semi-finals in 2 previous attempts. The show about a group of people trying to save the world with the help of an almost all knowing machine really has hit the fan favorite stratosphere in the last year for sure. Whether its the bad assness of Jim Caviezel as John Reese, or Michael Emerson as the tech savvy Harold Finch or Kevin Chapman as the crooked cop turned good Lionel Fusco, the show has always had an excellent micture of characters. With the more recent additions of Amy Acker as a regular portraying the clinically insane Root or Sarah Shahi as Sameen Shaw, another trained assasin, to the team the group that fans know as Team Machine has really developed into a force in its battle against the sinister group behind Samaratan. With the shows future is still unknown at this time, the fans of the program have been hard at work in every corner of the internet letting the station that holds the shows rights, CBS, know they are not pleased about it being temporarily shelved. With a shortened season this year POI hasnt even aired 1 episode, and still doesnt have a premiere date for the 2015-16 season. In the first couple days of voting Supernatural had a modest lead, but eventually POI kept pushing thru. The 100 made a very late push generating 200+ votes in the last 24 hrs of voting to move up to fourth but their charge was too little too late to make any real dent into the lead POI had by then. Person Of Interest knocked off last years winner Arrow who finished well back in 2nd, and the former 2X winner prior to that Supernatural who finished 3rd to take the award. In 4th is The 100 in its 1st ever finals. The Flash finished 5th in its 2nd consecutive finals in its 2nd year. The CW nabbed 2nd thru 5th, with a combined 1918 votes between them... just too spread out between its fandoms to topple POI. In 6th is Once Upon A Time for the 2nd year in a row. Lost Girl, the back-to-back runner ups finished 7th this year as the shows fans really didnt come out in nearly as much force as previous years in all the categories. The Walking Dead was 8th this year pulling off a rare feat these awards, improving their ranking for a 3rd straight year. Game Of Thrones came in 9th is up 1 spot from last year. Agents Of SHIELD & How To Get Away With Murder manage a tie for 10th. Agents making its 2nd final after 14th place finish last year, HTGAWM in its 1st finals. Orphan Black made the finals for its 3rd time, Orange Is The New Black is back for its 2nd finals Other first time finalists Grey's Anatomy, Daredevl, & iZombie. For the first time ever, Best Director & Best Episode are a match. Chris Fisher directed the Best Episode winner "If-Then-Else" from Person Of Interest. The 11th episode of the season for POI garnered a lot of attention from everywhere. The comparisons to Groundhog Day, the kiss between the two shows lead females and the suspense of if they killed off a main character or not had a lot of people talking about this episode all year. Mixed in was slow-mo replays that showed the viewers how fast the Machine was thinking through all possible outcomes. Maybe my favorite little gag in it was when the Machine decided the simulation needed to go faster, so instead of us hearing each characters dialogue, we got them telling us a literal description of what they would have been saying. Fisher frequently had to film the same scenarios multiple times, but make them look "very similar, but slightly different" each time. All in all, a spectacular episode all around. His victory comes at the cost of the 2 time winner Jensen Ackles from Supernatural trying for his 3rd Directing award for "The Bad Seed". Both Ackles and Lexi Alexander "Beyond Redemption" from Arrow who nabbed 3rd marking the 2nd consecutive 3rd place finish for an Arrow director, had leads earlier on. Fisher took over the lead permanently in the final two days of the vote. In 4th, for a 2nd consecutive year Thomas J. Wright from Supernatural , this time for "Baby". Garry A. Photo credit - CBS The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Episode is If-Then-Else "Person Of Interest". This was the 1st time Person of Interest had any episodes in the finals of this category, and lo & behold, If-Then-Else, the 11th episode of their season, and first of 2015, wins. Directed by Chris Fisher, in the episode we find Reese, Finch, Fusco & Root known by its fans as Team Machine heading to the New York Stock Exchange after a crippling attack on it by Samaratan, while their other member Shaw tracks a man on a subway that is considered key to all of whats going on. In a bit of a nod to Groundhog Day, The Machine plays thru various scenarios when the team ends up in trouble to find the best of the bad options they have and takes the viewers on a ride as it plays out each scenario before rewinding right back to the start of their troubles. Shaw ends up in the middle of a suicide attempt on the train & has to deviate from her original plan to assure no one ends up dead. We get a couple of scenes of Root flirting heavily with Shaw in the episode, with Shaw eventually telling Root that "yeah Root, maybe someday". Eventually Shaw makes it to the NYSE just in time to help her team & improve the teams chances. In the end the machine helps the team escape, but they are left with a terrible decision in the end. One of them will have to stay behind to trigger the button to help the elevator they have escaped to to go. Root tries to stop Shaw, before Shaw gives her a big kiss & then pushes her back away from the door as she closes it & goes to the button as Root is left yelling at the cage door. The episode ends with the elevator door closing and the survival of Shaw unknown at the time with Samaratan operative Martine standing over top of Shaw with a gun pointed at her. After last years Win, Arrow nabs 2nd place this year with their mid-season finale "Dark Waters". In 3rd is "Mr & Mrs. Castle" from Castle. The episode "Out Of Time" from The Flash nabbed 4th. "Just My Imagination" from the 3X Winning show Supernatural took 5th. Supernatural also took 6th with the Impala-centric episode "Baby". Newcomer to the finals Outlander took 7th with "The Devils Mark". "Rise" & "End Of Faes" from Lost Girl took 8th and 9th, and the 3rd Supernatural finalist "Brothers Keeper" rounded out the top 10. Shows making the finals for the 1st time include - Agents Of SHIELD, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Daredevil, Galavant, Glee, Hannibal, iZombie, Minority report, Mr. Robot, Orphan Black, Rookie Blue, The Big Bang Theory, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. With 1, 334 votes If-Then-Else sets a new category record for votes, breaking the previous mark of 952 last year by "Arrow" The Secret Origins Of Felicity Smoak. With 377 vote margin of victory, it also sets a new category record, breaking the previous record of 193 from last year. The Best Youth Actress Category looks like it might again go to the 2013 winner Maisie Williams from "Game Of Thrones:". After losing the 2014 title to now over 20 actress Bex Taylor-Klaus, the inagural winner looks to have a serious run at a 2nd title set up. While some competition was put in for the semi-finals from unexpected contender Chandler Kinney from "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" and Camren Bicondova from "Gotham", Williams seems like the safe bet in this category again. The Best New Program Category seems poised to crown a female led hero show this year. Jessica Jones, Supergirl and Agent carter were the top 3 vote getters in the semi-finals. While Quantico & Daredevil were also close to the leaders. Fear The Walking Dead makes the finals, hoping to follow in its origin shows footsteps and win the New Program award. Last years winning show, Arrow notched 5 finalists, despite the maximum 3 rule, due to a tie in the semi-final voting for 3rd place from the show, and nabbing 1 of the spots in the run off late addition voting. Other shows putting in multiple finalists the show with 2 Best Episode awards Supernatural with 4, Castle with 4, Daredevil, Doctor Who, Hannibal, Lost Girl, The Flash, The Walking Dead, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with 3 Agents Of SHIELD, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, iZombie with 2. There are 8 shows with only 1 finalist, all 8 are 1st time finalists in the category. The Best Director Category will see the two time winner Jensen Ackles having some competition this time from "Arrow" director Lexi Alexander for Beyond Redemption and 2014 semi-finalist "Person of Interest" director Chris Fisher for If-Then-Else. With Hannibal having 3 finalists, Person of Interest, Supernatural and The Walking Dead all having two finalists each, the potential for vote splitting on those shows is going to give the lone Arrow candidate a serious chance to win. The Best Animated Program Category looks again like it will be dominated by The Simpsons. With very few serious contenders in the field, the longest running prime time animated series of all time looks poised to win its 3rd straight award. Perennial contenders Family Guy and South Park look to be the most probable competition. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Archer and Bobs Burgers will all be in the finals as well.
