The psychopathic assassin that has turned more good than evil recently was really taken for a ride this year. She started the year by fighting Samaratan as they tried to destroy the stock market, got a kiss from her crush and of course help try to save the life of The Machine. Besides her first BOTVA, Acker's character won our annual May Madness Favorite Character tournament last year, as well as Spoiler TV's version of it , the Character Cup. As well she has at least 1 more award coming this year. Acker a recurring role on Con Man and a 2 episode guest spot on Suits. The 39 year old actress beat out a trio of former winners in Emily Bett Rickards (2014), Jennifer Lawrence (2013) and Stana Katic (2012) for the award. The two leaders Acker, and Rickards leapfrogged each other a couple times during the voting, with Acker actually being behind by 11 votes at the start of the last day of voting. But, as we will see several more times in this years awards, last day voting pushes made the difference in the end. The 2014 winner Emily Bett Rickards finished 2nd with a notable lead over the 2012 winner Stana Katic who finished 3rd. Person Of Interest finds itself in the finals for a 5th consecutive year, 4th time in this category (plus 2011 New Program category), they will try to improve on their all time best 5th place finish & their 2nd in the semi-finals bodes well for that happening. Last years runner up and former 2X category winners Castle are again in the mix with a 3rd place finish in the semis. Hannibal finds themselves back in the finals for a 2nd time, looking to improve on their 7th place finish last year. Criminal Minds stays in the finals, making it an unprecidented 6th finals appearance in this category. Still hoping to get their 1st win, with a 2nd & 3rd in the past few years. Hawaii Five-0 is back for their 5th finals. The Blacklist is in their 2nd straight finals. Rookie Blue is in the finals for a 2nd time, their last appearance was in 2013. Gotham and How To Get Away With Murder find themselves in the finals for the first time in this category. Last year they both made it in the New Program category. Rizzoli And Isles makes the finals for the first time in any category. The Best Action or Drama Actor Category will not have a repeat winner as last years winner Christopher Gorham "Covert Affairs" is not eligible this year. There are two former Winners in the mix though. The 2013 winner John Barrowman "Arrow" is once again back, along with his shows star Stephen Amell, who led semi-final voting (as he did last year as well) and Paul Blackthorne for his 2nd time. The 2012 & 2011 winner Nathan Fillion "Castle" who is joined this time by 1st time finalst Jon Huertas from his show. Mads Mikkelsen & Hugh Dancy "Hannibal" both are back for a 3rd consecutive finals. Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson "Person Of Interest" are back in the finals, caviezel for his 3rd time (missing last year) and Emerson for his 2nd (first time since 2012) along with their cast mate Kevin Chapman making his 1st finals. Yannick Bisson "Murdoch Mysteries" makes the finals for the 2nd time. Alex O'Loughlin "Hawaii Five-0" is back for his 4th finals. Ben McKenzie "Gotham" returns to the finals for his 2nd year in a row, along with 1st time finalist from the show Robin Lord taylor. James Spader "The Blacklist" slips into the last spot of the finals, making it his 3rd consecutive finals. In the finals for the first time, along with Huertas, Chapman and Taylor are Rami Malek "Mr. Robot" and Charlie Cox "Daredevil" in their shows 1st year. The Best Action or Drama Actress Category had last years winner leading the semi-final voting as Emily Bett Rickards "Arrow" led by a wide margin, her co-stars Katie Cassidy & Willa Holland also made it for the 2nd time each. The former 3 time winner Stana Katic "Castle" was 2nd and will be joined this year in the finals by co-star Molly Quinn for her 1st time. Amy Acker "Person Of Interest" who plays Root, the May Madness Character winner this past year was 3rd and makes the finals for her 3rd time. She is joined by 1st time finalist Sarah Shahi from the show. Gillian Anderson "Hannibal" a finalist last year in the recurring actress category is back this time in the action/drama actress category, along with co-star Caroline Dhavernas. Helene Joy "Murdoch Mysteries" makes the finals for the 2nd consecutive year. Lucy Liu "Elementary" is back for her 3rd time as is Grace Park "Hawaii Five-0". Taraji P Henson " Empire" makes the finals for the first time on this show, and her 2nd time in the category, previously with "Person Of Interest" in 2013. While the show does have 1 finalist in Curtis Armstrong, it seems like he will certainly have some serious competition this year from others on other shows. A bit of a shocker to me, Bradley James from iZombie led voting in the semi-finals. Ian Anthony Dale from "Hawaii Five-0" was tied for 2nd with Armstrong. Winston Duke from "Person of Interest" a 5th place Guest Star finalist last year, finds himself in the hunt for the Recurring honour this year. Noah Wyle, John Noble, Joshua Jackson and Jon Hamm all find themselves competing in this category this year, all previously were finalists in the main actor categories for completely different shows, in the past. The Best Recurring Actress Category finalists had another minor upset (to me at least) in the semi-finals. Ann Mahoney from "The Walking Dead" a non-factor in round 1 voting where she finished 32nd, led voting this round. Felicia Day from "Supernatural" , the 2013 Winner of this award was 2nd. Alycia Debnam-Carey will have two spots in the finals, one for "The 100" & one for "Fear The Walking Dead". Michelle Borth of "Hawaii Five-0" makes the finals as a Recurring actress this year, after missing out on the finals in the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Camren Mannheim led 3 "Person Of Interest" actresses into the finals, along with cara Buono and Annie Ilonzeh. Ksenia Solo, a finalist last year in this category for "Lost Girl" is back with her work on "Orphan Black". Katrina Law, a finalist in this category last year, and caity Lotz, a finalist in the Best Sci-fi/Fantasy Actress category last year represent "Arrow" in the finals this year here. Rachel Nichols "Continuum" makes the finals one last time for her work on the show in its final season, this time in the Recurring category. The Best Guest Star Category was led by the Winner of the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" led voting for the same cahracter that won her the most notable actress award last year, this time on a different show. She was also a finalist last year in this category for this very role, finishing 6th. Taraji P. Henson "Person Of Interest" is a finalist for her work with the character that got her a finalist nod in 2013 in the Best Action/Drama Actress field. Travis Aaron Wade, a finalist for Recurring Actor last year is back in the finals as a Guest Star this year for his work on "Supernatural". Another "Suypernatural" finalist is Timothy Omundson, better known as a 3X finalist for Best Comedy Actor for his work on "Psych". Enrico Colantoni "Person of Interest" is back in the finals again after last year being there in the Recurring Actor category. Julian Richings "Supernatural" gets back into the finals after 1st appearing in this categories inagural award in 2011. Lucy Lawless "Agents Of SHIELD" is back in the finals in this category after finishing 3rd in it last year. Stephen Amell "The Flash" also returns after a 7th place finish last year. Grant Gustin "Arrow" also is back after being a finalist last year. Mark Hamill "The Flash" finds himself as a finalist, fresh off his massive 5 second role in Star Wars The Force Awakens. John Noble is a double finalist this year. With his Recurring honour, and his work on "Forever" he gets a spot in this finals too. Ksenia Solo "Lost Girl" is also a double finalist this year. Her Recurring nod, and her Guest Star nod for "Lost Girl", her 5th finals for this show (3 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress, 1 Recurring, 1 Guest). Wil Wheaton "The Big Bang Theory" is back as a finalist after being one for his work on the show in 2012. Robert Knepper "Hawaii Five-0" is back for a 2nd time in the Guest Star category, after being nominated last year for "Arrow" and its his 3rd straight year making at least the semi-finals in this category as he did so in 2013 for "The Blacklist" making him the first ever actor nominated in the same category 3 years in a row for 3 different shows. Rebecca Mader "Once Upon A Time" makes it back to the finals for the first time since 2012 when she did so with her Guest Spot on "Fringe". Sarah Bolger "Once Upon A Time" makes the finals for a 2nd time, last being 2013 as a Recurring Actress.
