With over 487,000 votes already cast at the time of writing this post, the 2015 BOTVA's is well on its way to breaking the current record of just under 575,000 votes in a year. The Nomination rounds for Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Actor, Actress and Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Program took place a couple weeks ago. . The Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy program category has historically been dominated by Supernatural (with the exception of 2012 being won by The Walking Dead) but this year it looks like the 11th season of the CW hit might have its work cut out for it. The all time leader in awards on this site by a show found itself way down in 11th place in the first round. The 100 with 4911 votes led round one. Forever with 3199 came in 2nd. The Librarians was 3rd with 1165. Closely followed by Lost Girl in 4th with 1104 and The Walking dead in 5th with 1029. Jensen Ackles from Supernatural winning every year except the year TWD won and Norman Reedus stole his crown. This year, just like his show, Mr. Ackles finds him neck deep in competition. Grant Gustin "The Flash" led in the opening round with 2956. Ioan Gruffudd "Forever" was in 2nd with 2242. christian Kane from "The Librarians" in 3rd with 1981. A notable amount of "long shots" managed to sneak into the 2nd round this year, including most of the top 5 list which came from programs that dont seem like likely to make an impact when it comes to 1 vote per person voting.
