Arrow has 2 of the top 3, including John Behring for "Unthinkable" as the top vote getter, narrowly beating out 2012 winner Jensen Ackles for "Soul Survivor" on Supernatural. Douglas Aarniokoski on "Seeing Red" rounds out the bookends of the Arrow Supernatural Arrow trio. Amanda Tapping managed 2 finalist spots with her 2 part Continuum episodes. Besides 2012 winner Ackles, Pamela Fryman "How Your Mother Met Me" is the only other previous contender for Best Director, making the semi-finals last year. Last years winning show Glee, had no finalists this year as their 2 semi-finalist contenders did not advance. The Best Episode category, aka - "favorite Supernatural episode" in the years past could be a hard one to predict. Supernatural is well represented in the finals. SEVEN finalists for the 3X Winning show, Arrow and Lost Girl managed 5, while Castle has 4. While it would SEEM to be a safe bet with Arrow & Supernatural dominating the top 8 spots that they are a shoe in to win, theres then the fact that in the finals the amount of challengers you can vote for will be limited to 2 or 3. Vote splitting is always a problem when a show shoves too many of its challengers into a finals. Perhaps The Flash or Murdoch Mysteries with their 1 singular nominee will win because their fans will not be split on who to vote for. Also, an error occurred in listing for a couple days of this category. One of the Arrow finalists, The Secret Origins Of Felicity Smoak was mistakenly listed as Draw Back Your Bow for awhile, so if you voted for DBYB & wonder where it is.... is was changed to TSOOFS during the round after the error was noticed. The Finals for these categories will take place in January 2015 HERE

Only 4 of last years finalists made the finals this year. With only 1 of the finalists last year being retired, that means 5 couple from last year did not make this years finals who were there last year. Crazier yet, Once Upon A Time had 2 couples in last year, neither of them made it this year... including last years runner ups in the finals, but a completely different couple did. Last years winner Dr. Lauren Lewis & Bo Dennis from Lost Girl are back, despite their penalties and have brought along another couple from their show Kenzie & Hale Santiago. The couple known as Doccubus main competition looks to be coming from newcomer couple Oliver Queen & Felicity Smoak from Arrow, Olicity garnered nearly double the votes of the 2 time champ. Richard Castle & Kate Beckett of Castle (aka - Caskett), the other winner of this award in 2012 is still in the fight too, along with last years break out couple Kurt Hummel & Blaine Anderson from Glee (aka - Klaine) who finished 3rd in this years semi-final voting. In the category of "odd" has to be the case of Felicity Smoak. The character (played by the same actress) is going into the finals in 2 different couples....on 2 different shows. Definitely a 1st. The Animated category returns after being removed for 2 years due to a lack of contenders and interest. The former champion is again looking poised to win again as The Simpsons won the semi-finals. After finishing 2nd in the opening round to a show that failed to make the finals, it seems pretty clear the winner is probably going to the longest running prime time animated program ever. Family Guy, South Park & The Legend Of Korra all look like they will at least give the champion SOME fight, but this seems more of a battle for 2nd than any potential winner coming out of the group. Newcomer David Mazouz "Gotham" jumped in and took the lead in the semi-final round, narrowly beating last years runner up Jared Gilmore "Once Upon A Time". Another newcomer to the category Isaac Hempstead Wright "Game Of Thrones" came in 3rd ahead of last years 3rd place finisher Chandler Riggs "The Walking Dead". This year 4 of last years finalists are in this eyars finals. As stated earlier, the defending champ is out due to not being on the show this year, Same goes for Rowan Longworth, while Shane Harper was ineligible due to his age. In the Youth Actress category... last eyars winner Maisie Williams "Game Of Thrones" again looks like she will be a major contender. However, the semi-final vote saw last years double finalist Bex Taylor-Klaus "Arrow" take a strong stranglehold on things and will go into the finals as the probable favorite based on her nearly 2 to 1 vote ratio of last years winner in the runner up spot. Camren Bicondova "Gotham" like her male counterpart finished strong with a 3rd place spot ahead of last years 3rd place finalist Sophie Turner "Game Of Thrones" who finished 4th in the semi-finals this year. Like on the guys side, theres a couple missing from this year who were in last year. Molly Quinn "Castle" was ineligible for her age, Gage Golightly was both ineligible for her age and the fact her show ended, and finally Bex Taylor-Klaus "The Killing" will only be a finalist for 1 show this year as her role in the final season of the drama was not reprised. Only 2 of last years finalists, The Impala and last years runner up Rumplestiltskin's Dagger made the finals this year. In fact, Bear from Person of Interest is the ONLY other semi-finalist from last year to even make it this year. On the talk show host side. Nothing much changes. Ellen Degeneres again looks poised for a 3rd consecutive title as she handily won the semi-finals, as she has in the previous years. All of last years finalists made this years finals as well. The opening round generated 94,550 total votes. Of those, 5,081 were write-in votes. Unfortunately, only 2,299 were valid write in votes. Leaving 2,782 failed write in votes. More sad, this is not even the worst year percentage wise of ineligible write in votes.
As some of you who follow me on twitter, facebook, tumblr or right here on this site know, I have warned many people this year about writing in nominees in categories they either A- are already nominated in, or B- are not eligible for. As you have surely noticed on prior results posted. Votes for write in votes of already nominated challengers were taken off their total in the round 1 results. HOWEVER, as we all know, when you add up the write in votes, and the votes shown for write in votes...they don't even come close to adding up. This is where the write in votes for people, or shows NOT eligible in a category come in. I have tabulated a SUBSTANTIAL list of them over the 27 categories. As I said repeatedly, doing this would lead to penalties. This year, I have decided the best way to do this is to take votes against a person/character and add them all up, divide them by all the categories they are eligible for round 2 in. So say "Person A" had 72 bad votes, and are eligible in 3 categories, they would have 24 votes against them in each category to be taken off. How this will be done is, this round, 75% of those votes will be taken off. 18, per category. If the person still makes the finals in all 3 categories, the other 25% will be taken out there, costing them 6 votes each category there. If they only make it in 1 category, all the left over votes will go into the 1 category then, meaning 18 votes will be lost by person A in that category in the finals. If they don't make any finals, then the penalties just vanish since the person whose fans made the incorrect votes was eliminated. I saw several "whats it matter, its not hurting anyone" comments. Which I suppose is technically right. I mean I wasn't physically harmed (as far as I know) from counting all the excess votes. HOWEVER, my TIME and patience were wasted to add them all up. Each write in vote has to be added up manually because of the countless spelling and punctuation varieties fans came up with for some of them. For 3 years I have warned fans thru the various social media platforms, as well as on here, this COULD happen....and several fanbases chose to ignore the statements. Thus why this year, those votes WILL be collected off the totals. Perhaps NEXT YEAR, certain fan bases will read things more thoroughly. I did NOT keep track of anyone with less than 3 votes, as about 20% of the nominees had at least 1 against them.... and that's a LOT of people to track. Only the more frequent offenders were catalogued. 1280 - Zoie Palmer/Lauren Lewis (5 selections) 441 - Emmanuelle Vaugier/Evony the Morrigan (1 selection) 71 - Anna Silk/Bo Dennis (4 selections) 46 - Ksenia Solo/Kenzi (3 selections) 27 - Kris Holden-Ried (3 selections) 9 - Lana Parrilla/Evil Queen (3 selections) 7 - Melissa McBride/Carol Peletier (2 selection) 7- Norman Reedus/Daryl Dixon (3 selections) 6 - Emily Bett Rickards/Felicity Smoak (5 selections) 6- Chandler Riggs/Carl Grimes (1 selection) 5- James Roday/Shawn Spencer (3 selections) 4- John Barrowman/Malcolm Merlyn (2 selections) 3- Stephen Amell/Oliver Queen (4 selections) 3- Christopher Gormham/Auggie Anderson (1 selection) 50 - Lost girl (9 selections) 8 - Once Upon A Time (4 selections) 7- The Walking Dead (6 selections) 6- Supernatural (11 selections) 4- Murdoch Mysteries (5 selections) 3- Orphan Black (2 selections) 3- Outlander (1 selection) 3- The 100 (1 selection) The largest vote total for a candidate in round 1 was - 4,996 for Dr. Lauren Lewis & Bo Dennis "Lost Girl" in Best Couple.
