Last years inaugural winner of the Best Stunts awards narrowly defended their award in a pretty remarkable comeback. Arrow wins their 2nd consecutive Best Stunts Award. The team, led by James Bamford and Eli Zagoudakis as the stunt co-ordinators mainly consists of stunt actors Simon Burnett, Atlin Mitchell, Melissa Jin, and many others. Not to mention the shows star Stephen Amell has been known to do some of his own stunts. Arrow wins by 2 votes over Person of Interest, well up from their 9th place finish last year. With less than an hour left, POI had passed Arrow narrowly, then Arrow retook the lead in the last 20 minutes. Definitely the most closely contested award this year. Well back in 3rd was Once Upon A Time in their 1st finals in this category. Game Of Thrones was up 1 spot from last year going from 5th to 4th. The Walking Dead made the finals this year for the first time. New show Daredevil nabbed 6th just ahead of last years 3rd place finalist Lost Girl in 7th. Agents Of SHIELD tumbled along with Lost Girl 4 spots down from the 4th place last year to 8th this year. Hawaii Five-0 dropped from 6th to 9th this year, and The Flash dropped from 7th to 10th.  Photo credit - CBS The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Couple Samantha Groves/Root & Sameen Shaw (Amy Acker & Sarah Shahi) "Person Of Interest". This years Best Couple winner is technically not even a couple.... but met the categories dynamics (something a specific fan base in the opening round had trouble understanding). Samantha Groves, aka Root and another member of Team Machine Sameen Shaw won the Best Couple based off the 1 kiss they shared last year in episode 411 after a lot of suggestions from Root that they should be together, which till that moment Shaw had ignored. While the deranged "couple" still havent found each other since then, the fans of the couple known as "Shoot" (reasonably named considering the duos penchant for guns & just happens to be a combination of Shaw & Root) havent stopped hoping. In 2nd was last years super couple, the 2014 BOTVA winners Oliver Queen & Felicity Smoak "Arrow". The popularity of this couple, known as Olicity with a select part of the shows fandom is not in dispute. In 3rd was the 2012 Winners Richard Castle & Kate Beckett "Castle", known as Caskett by their fans. In 4th was Robin Hood & Regina Mills "Once Upon A Time" in their 1st ever finals in this category known as Outlaw Queen with their fandom. Clarke Griffin & Lexa The Commander "The 100" in their 1st ever finals in this category Clexa as they are known by the fans finished 5th. 6th place found the 2011 & 2013 Winners Bo Dennis & Lauren Lewis "Lost Girl" in their 5th consecutive finals. Doccubus had never finished worse than 2nd prior to this year. In 7th was Barry Allen & Iris West "The Flash" known as WestAllen by the fans. This is the 2nd finals in a row for Barry Allen, who made it last year with Felicity Smoak, while Iris West is here for the 1st time. Another "Once Upon A Time" couple in 8th as Captain Hook & Emma Swan. "Captain Swan" finished 4th last year. In 9th is the on again off again couple of Steve McGarrett & Catherine Rollins "Hawaii Five-0" down 1 spot from where McRoll finished last year. 10th was Sheldon Cooper & Amy Farrah Fowler "The Big Bang Theory" The couple known as ShAmy were finalists in 2012 & 2013, but missed last years finals. Prince Charming & Snow White "Once Upon A Time" were back for a 3rd time. Snowing made the finals prior in 2011 and 2013. Thea Queen & Roy Harper "Arrow" made the finals for a 2nd consecutive year. Sam Swarek & Andy McNally "Rookie Blue" known as McSwarek by the fans made the finals for the 1st time. Santana Lopez and Brittany Pierce "Glee" known as Brittana to the fans, made the finals in the shows last year of eligibility. Voting for this award saw 4 different leaders over the 1st two days. Clexa, Caskett, Olicity and Shoot all had the lead at different times. Eventually Shoot pulled away in the final couple days. This is the 2nd award (Sexiest Actress) of these BOTVAs for Amy Acker (the actress who plays Root) and 3rd honour (2015 May Madness winner as well). This is the 1st award for Sarah Shahi (actress who plays Shaw). Last years runner up and former 2X category winners Castle are again in the mix with a 3rd place finish in the semis. Hannibal finds themselves back in the finals for a 2nd time, looking to improve on their 7th place finish last year. Criminal Minds stays in the finals, making it an unprecidented 6th finals appearance in this category. Still hoping to get their 1st win, with a 2nd & 3rd in the past few years. Hawaii Five-0 is back for their 5th finals. The Blacklist is in their 2nd straight finals. Rookie Blue is in the finals for a 2nd time, their last appearance was in 2013. A bit of a shocker to me, Bradley James from iZombie led voting in the semi-finals. Ian Anthony Dale from "Hawaii Five-0" was tied for 2nd with Armstrong. Winston Duke from "Person of Interest" a 5th place Guest Star finalist last year, finds himself in the hunt for the Recurring honour this year. Noah Wyle, John Noble, Joshua Jackson and Jon Hamm all find themselves competing in this category this year, all previously were finalists in the main actor categories for completely different shows, in the past. The Best Recurring Actress Category finalists had another minor upset (to me at least) in the semi-finals. Ann Mahoney from "The Walking Dead" a non-factor in round 1 voting where she finished 32nd, led voting this round. Felicia Day from "Supernatural" , the 2013 Winner of this award was 2nd. Alycia Debnam-Carey will have two spots in the finals, one for "The 100" & one for "Fear The Walking Dead". Michelle Borth of "Hawaii Five-0" makes the finals as a Recurring actress this year, after missing out on the finals in the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Camren Mannheim led 3 "Person Of Interest" actresses into the finals, along with cara Buono and Annie Ilonzeh. Ksenia Solo, a finalist last year in this category for "Lost Girl" is back with her work on "Orphan Black". Katrina Law, a finalist in this category last year, and caity Lotz, a finalist in the Best Sci-fi/Fantasy Actress category last year represent "Arrow" in the finals this year here. Rachel Nichols "Continuum" makes the finals one last time for her work on the show in its final season, this time in the Recurring category. The Best Guest Star Category was led by the Winner of the Best Action/Drama Actress category last year. Emily Bett Rickards "The Flash" led voting for the same cahracter that won her the most notable actress award last year, this time on a different show. She was also a finalist last year in this category for this very role, finishing 6th. Taraji P. Henson "Person Of Interest" is a finalist for her work with the character that got her a finalist nod in 2013 in the Best Action/Drama Actress field. Travis Aaron Wade, a finalist for Recurring Actor last year is back in the finals as a Guest Star this year for his work on "Supernatural". Another "Suypernatural" finalist is Timothy Omundson, better known as a 3X finalist for Best Comedy Actor for his work on "Psych". Enrico Colantoni "Person of Interest" is back in the finals again after last year being there in the Recurring Actor category. Julian Richings "Supernatural" gets back into the finals after 1st appearing in this categories inagural award in 2011. Lucy Lawless "Agents Of SHIELD" is back in the finals in this category after finishing 3rd in it last year. Stephen Amell "The Flash" also returns after a 7th place finish last year. Grant Gustin "Arrow" also is back after being a finalist last year. Mark Hamill "The Flash" finds himself as a finalist, fresh off his massive 5 second role in Star Wars The Force Awakens. The Best Youth Actress Category looks like it might again go to the 2013 winner Maisie Williams from "Game Of Thrones:". After losing the 2014 title to now over 20 actress Bex Taylor-Klaus, the inagural winner looks to have a serious run at a 2nd title set up. The only winner of this award in the 3 years of its existence seems poised to take it again. The two time runner up Jimmy Fallon finds himself finishing 2nd again to Ellen in this round. Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Conan O'Brien all make the finals for a fourth time, along with John Oliver in his 2nd finals. Last years field had 8 finalists, this year only 6. Former 2X finalists David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel both missed the finals with Kimmel not even making the semi-finals. The Best Writing Category has most of the same shows that made the inagural awards final round last year. Only Orange Is The New Black and the currently inactive Sherlock did not make it back to this years finals. A few new shows to the finals made the finals this year. Person of Interest and Agents Of SHIELD were strong contenders, both finishing in the top 4 in the semi-finals. Another pack of four newcomers to the finals followed not too much furtner behind, The 100, Once Upon A Time, Agent Carter & Daredevil all made the finals as well. Last years winner, Arrow, is back in the finals as the vote leader in the semi-finals, after a modest 5th place showing in the opening round. In a rare feat, Arrow actually increased its vote total from round 1 where there was no limit to voting, to round 2 where there was a 1 per voting restriction. the two opening round voting goliaths, hannibal & Person of Interest had somewhat different round 2 successes. While both qualified for the finals, POI managed to stick around in 2nd, while Hannibal fell back to 10th. last years runner up, Lost Girl also qualified, but barely, sneaking in down at 11th. The Best Stunts Category also won by Arrow last year looks poised for a possible repeat performance this year. Much like the writing category, almost everyone from last year is back. Only Supernatural didnt make it back to the finals this year, being replaced by newcomer Daredevil. The difference between last year & this year seems to be who the contenders to Arrows title might be. Last years runner ups Lost Girl and the eliminated Supernatural dropped considerably this year, while two also rans in the finals last year Person Of Interest and The Flash find themselves going into the finals as the contenders. The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Best Action Or Drama Program is.... Arrow (CW) Last year Arrow beat the defending two time champion Castle to win the honour, it was a mild upset. This year, Arrow returns to the top and it seemed like a foregone conclussion through much of the voting. With this win, Arrow nabs 9 Awards this year. While the show spent much of 2014 killing off characters close to the shows lead character Oiliver Queen, the shows fans have become a nearly unstoppable force on these awards. With 2587 votes, the show sets a new categorry record for most votes, and largest margin of victory 1,499 over runner up 2011 & 2012 winner Castle with 1088 votes. In 3rd is Sherlock in its 1st finals with 772 votes. In 4th was Covert Affairs with 531 votes in the shows 1st & seemingly only finals appearance on news that it has been canceled. In 5th is Person Of Interest with 358 votes. In 6th Criminal Minds, the only show to be in all 5 finals for the category, down from 3rd last year. In 7th this year is Hannibal in its first finals appearance. In 8th is The Blacklist in its 1st year of eligibility after finishing 6th in the new program category last year. In 9th is Murdoch Mysteries, the 1st ever show to make the finals for Canadian station CBC.
