The 2016 Best Of TV Awards winner in the category of Sexiest Actor is - Christian Kane This years winner was a pretty unexpected pick to me. While Christian Kane has been wildly popular in the past during his Leverage days, he was never quite "in the hunt" for awards.... often making the finals, but coming up well short. This year, his fandom rallied together to give the man from Dallas, Texas this years title of Sexiest Actor. His only previous effort in the category got him to the semi-finals in 2014. Kane won with 257 votes, narrowly holding off Jensen Ackles, the former 3X winner. Going into the last day, Kane has a 44 vote lead, but won with just a 24 vote margin. Jensen Ackles was 2nd, the 3X winner of this award has now been runner up for 3 consecutive years. Misha Collins was 3rd with 188 votes. This was his first finals appearance since 2013. after 3 consecutive 4th place finishes. This gives him his highest ranking ever. Colin O'Donoghue was 4th with 157 votes. He finished 7th, 8th & 3rd in his previous finals appearances. David Giuntoli was 5th in his first ever finals appearance with 87 votes. Jared Padalecki was 6th with 45 votes in his 6th consecutive finals appearance. Stephen Amell, the defending 2X winner stumbled down to 7th this year with 32 votes. Chris Evans was 8th with 26 votes. Chris Hemsworth with 25 votes came in 9th. Tom Ellis was 10th with 24 votes. 1st CHRISTIAN KANE 257 2nd JENSEN ACKLES 233 3rd MISHA COLLINS 188 4th COLIN O'DONOGHUE 157 5th DAVID GIUNTOLI 87 6th JARED PADALECKI 45 7th STEPHEN AMELL 32 8th CHRIS EVANS 26 9th CHRIS HEMSWORTH 25 10th TOM ELLIS 24 11th Benedict Cumberbatch 22 12th Alex O'Loughlin 19 13th Jamie Dornan 18 14th Tom Hardy 17 14th Tyler Hoechlin 17 16th Jason Momoa 16 17th Chris Pratt 15 18th Jeffrey Dean Morgan 13 19th Josh Dallas 11 20th Grant Gustin 10 21st Colton Haynes 9 22nd Tom Hiddelston 7 You can find ALL of this years winners HERE You can find ALL the all-time winners HERE The 2016 Best Of TV Awards Finals are coming soon, and here is the finalists for the categories of Sexiest Actor Semi-Finals leader was the 3-Time winner of this award & now 6 time finalist, Jensen Ackles with 60 votes. January 28, 2017 You can Vote HERE The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Sexiest Actor is Stephen Amell. A repeat winner, Stephen Amell takes home his 2nd BOTVA Award. The star of Arrow has spread his wings a bit since last year, being a semi-regular guest star on The Flash and will be in the upcoming feature film Teanage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as Casey Jones. Oh and is undefeated as a WWE wrestler. After last years shocking upset of the former 3X champion Jensen Ackles by Stephen, Amell repeats as this years sexiest actor. Just like last year the 3 time winner came in 2nd, although this time narrowly doing so. In 3rd was Mads Mikkelsen in his 3rd consecutive finals beating out his previous 5th & 6th place finishes in the years prior. Jared Padalecki in his 5th consecutive finals finishes 4th, his best finish since a 3rd in 2011. Newcomer to the Sexiest Actor BOTVA appearance managed a tie for 5th. Nathan Fillion in his 3rd finals, and 2nd consecutive managed to tie for 5th, a slight drop from his 3rd last year. Jim Caviezel also finished tied for 5th in his 1st ever finals. Colin O'Donoghue in his 3rd consecutive finals moved up 1 spot from last year to finish 7th. Kris Holden-Ried in his 4th finals slips from 4th down to 8th this year. Alex O'Loughlin nabs 9th in his 1st ever BOTVA finals appearance in the category. John Barrowman in his 1st BOTVA finals in this category took 10th by 3 votes. With over 487,000 votes. The 2015 BOTVA's all time record of 575,000 votes in a year looks sure to fall as we passed the 560,000 vote mark in the semi-finals & nearly broke the 570,000 mark. Only finalists last year to miss the mark this year were two of my faves, Molly Quinn & Jennifer Love Hewitt. Despite the finalists list expanding from 16 to 20. Newcomers to the finals this year will include Amy Acker, Sarah Shahi, Gillian Anderson, Hayley Atwell, Elizabeth Henstridge, Grace Park.
The last 3 winners, Emily Bett Rickards, Jennifer Lawrence and Stana Katic are all in this years finals. Along with 4 time top 3 finalist Zoie Palmer. In a rare occurance in these awards, pretty much all the leaders in the nomination round were near the top in the semi-finals. The top 4 in this round, Rickards, Acker, Shahi, Palmer, were also the top 4 in the opening round. As well, Anderson, Silk and Parrilla in the opening round all finished in the top 8 & did so here as well. This is nothing short of rare for these awards, as the opening round often sees 1 or 2 hopefuls being propped up by a couple enthusiastic supporters fall by the wayside in round 2 when the voting is limited to 1 each. Last years winner Emily Bett Rickards had sizable leads in the 1st & 2nd rounds & would seem like a good bet to repeat this year. The Sexiest Actor Category was not so predictable. While last years winner Stephen Amell did lead the semi-final voting, he was an adequate 8th in the opening round. The Nomination round vote leader Mads Mikkelsen continued with trying to make an impact by coming in 2nd in the semi-finals. His co-star, who finished 2nd in round 1, didnt even qualify for the finals. Strange to say the least, its usually not till the finals that fandoms abandon a 2nd choice when voting is streamlined to only 1 or 2 picks. Another top 5 opening round vote getter didnt make the finals, Vincent D'Onofrio, as the power of the small handful of voters he had in the first round couldnt get enough of their fans to follow suit in round 2. Jim Caviezel, Jared Padalecki & Chris Hemsworth round out the top 5 in the semi-finals. Only Caviezel was a top 5 name after round one of voting. Three time winner Jensen Ackles qualified for the finals in 7th, the lowest hes ever come into the finals at. The Best Non-Human Character or Prop category looks poised to potentially have a new winner. The four time winner, The Impala from "Supernatural" seems to have some stiff competition this year. The "Person Of Interest" dog Bear has led the voting in both rounds, with another POI candidate second in both, The Machine. While The Impala did improve from the 1st round to the 2nd round by going from a 5th place showing up to a 3rd place showing & was less than 100 votes behind the leader, this is clearly the first ever sign of any challenge to the defending 4X champions crown. Interestingly the 3rd place finisher in round 1, did not even make the finals, finishing 2nd to last. While the last place qualifier in round 1 finished in the top 5 this round. The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards will be under way with some categories soon. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days.. Voting, and a complete list of nominees in all categories can be found HERE The Winner of the 2014 Best Of TV Award for Sexiest Actor is.... Stephen Amell The 3 time winner Jensen Ackles has been dethroned by another CW stud. Stephen Amell from Arrow wins this years Sexiest Actor with 1,365 votes & a 479 vote margin of victory, breaking both previous records held by Ackles for total votes in 2011- 1087 and largest margin of victory in 2012- 270. The 3X winner made the list still in an unfamiliar place for him, 2nd, with 886 votes, his lowest total in the 4 years of this award. In 3rd was the 2012 runner up to Ackles, who somehow wasnt even in the finals at all last year, Nathan Fillion with 660 votes. Coming in 4th was another 2012 finalist that did not make it in 2013, Kris Holden-Ried, 9th in 2012, made 4th this year with 560 votes after not making the finals last year. Finalists from last year that finished in the finals this year as well include, Mads Mikkelsen (5th last year) in 6th this year with 451 votes. Last years 3rd place finalist Colin O'Donoghue comes in 8th this year with 186. Benedict Cumberbatch, the 2013 runner up slips to 9th with 155. Johnny Depp who was 8th last year, 1 of only three men to make every final finished 10th with 154. Jared Padalecki, the 2 time 3rd place finalist, who was tied with this years winner Stephen Amell last year in 6th, finished in 11th. Chris Evans in 5th with 483 votes returned to the finals for the first time since 2011 where he finished 11th. The highest ranked newcomer to the finals was Ian Somerhalder finished 7th with 214. Tom Hiddleston in 12th with 134, Shemar Moore in 13th with 125, Chris Pratt in 14th with 91, Jamie Dornan in 15th with 63 and Hugh Dancy in 16th with 57 1st STEPHEN AMELL 1,365 *New Record* 2nd JENSEN ACKLES 886 3rd NATHAN FILLION 660 4th Kris Holden-Ried 560 5th Chris Evans 483 6th Mads Mikkelsen 451 7th Ian Somerhalder 214 8th Colin O'Donoghue 186 9th Benedict Cumberbatch 155 10th Johnny Depp 154 11th Jared Padalecki 142 12th Tom Hiddleston 134 13th Shemar Moore 125 14th Chris Pratt 91 15th Jamie Dornan 63 16th Hugh Dancy 57 The 2014 Best Of TV Awards opening round is winding down as the last group of the record 27categories is currently being voted on by you, the fans HERE.
