This is the first year she finished ahead of her co-star Jane Lynch, who this year finished 3rd. This ended the 4 year run of "The Big Bang Theory" winning it with Mayim Bialik (2012, 2014) finishing in 2nd this year and Kaley Cuoco (2011, 2013) finishing 4th. Sanwiched in between the former winners was Jane Lynch in 3rd. Kat Dennings "2 Broke Girls" rounded out the top 5 for the 2nd year in a row. The 2015 Best Of TV Awards Winner for Best Youth Actress is Chandler Kinney "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street". Chandler Kinney "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" came in as a write in candidate to win this years Best Youth Actress Award. Kinney finished 3rd in the opening round as a write in candidate, and followed that up in the semi-finals with a 2nd place showing to show she was no fluke. Kinney narrowly won by 6 votes over 2013 winner and last years runner up Maisie Williams "Game Of Thrones" who I will fully admit, I was so sure would win I had already written up a write up a post for her as she was leading by 11 votes with a day & a half left & seemed to be pulling away. In 3rd was another "Gortimer Gibbons" actress Ashley Boettcher giving this childrens show two of the top 3 finalists here. Sasha Pieterse "Pretty Little Liars" was down 1 spot from last years 3rd place finish to nab 4th. Camren Bicondova "Gotham" looked like a challenger after the opening round, finished 5th in the finals. In 6th was Olivia Steele-Falconer "Once Upon A Time". Sophie Tuner "Game Of Thrones" in her 3rd year slips to 7th after a 6th last year. Danielle Campbell "The Originals" hold son to last years ranking as she again finishes 8th. Teilor Grubbs "Hawaii Five-0" sneaks up 1 spot from last years 10th place finish to get 9th this year. Skyler Wexler "Orphan Black" switches spots with Grubbs to go from 9th to 10th. Zoe De Grand'Maison "Orphan Black" aslo was in her 2nd finals, finishing 13th. While newcomers Madison McLaughlin "Chicago PD" finished 11th and Natalie Alyn Lind "The Goldbergs" was 12th and "Gotham" 14th Complete Results 1st CHANDLER KINNEY "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" 281 2nd MAISIE WILLIAMS "Game Of Thrones" 275 3rd ASHLEY BOETTCHER "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" 167 4th SASHA PIETERSE "Pretty Little Liars" 140 5th CAMREN BICONDOVA " Gotham" 136 6th OLIVIA STEELE-FALCONER "Once Upon A Time" 132 7th SOPHIE TURNER "Game Of Thrones" 100 8th DANIELLE CAMPBELL "The Originals" 98 9th TEILOR GRUBBS "Hawaii Five-0" 91 10th SKYLER WEXLER "Orphan Black" 82 11th MADISON MCLAUGHLIN "Chicago PD" 77 12th NATALIE ALYN LIND "The Goldbergs" 62 13th ZOE DE GRAND MAISON "Orphan Black" 53 14th NATALIE ALYN LIND "Gotham" 41 To see the winners for all categories, you can find them on the 2015 BOTVA page HERE or on the all-time Best OF TV Awards winners page here. In the three years the youth awards have been around Chandler Riggs "The Walking Dead" has been a contender each year, and each year has moved up 1 spot from 3rd in 2013, to 2nd last year to winning this years award. The young actor who portrays Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead had lots of competition for this years award, but managed to hold off his challengers. Riggs was 1 of 4 actors who had the lead at some time. Runner up Jared Gilmore "Once Upon A Time" had the lead at times early on, and even on the 2nd to last day was tied with Riggs before falling behind. David Mazouz "Gotham" in 3rd had the lead breifly in the 1st day of the vote, eventually being passed by others before making a bit of a late surge to push himself back up into 3rd in the end. Sloane Morgan Siegel "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" showed his first round vote lead wasnt a fluke by hanging in with actors from more known shows to finish 4th, and was at times leading thru the first two days of the vote. Ironically, last years winner Isaac Hempstead Wright "Game Of Thrones" wasnt 1 of the 4 leaders, he finished 5th this year, just ahead of the 2013 winner Robbie Kay who was back for his 2nd time, this time however with his new show "Heroes Reborn" he finished 6th. Ross Lynch "Austin and Ally" came in 7th, Tanner Flood "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" nabbed 8th by 1 vote over Raphael Alejandro "Once Upon A Time" in 9th. Benjamin Stockham "About A Boy" got 10th, just ahead of Sean Giambrone "The Goldbergs" in 11th. Both last years runner up How I Met Your Mother, and 3rd place Psych, are no longer eligible, leaving a large gap between last eyars contenders and the champ.TBBT, looking for its 6th straight win, led semi-final voting by a near 5 to 3 margin over the 2nd place show Orange Is The New Black, making the finals for the first time. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Modern family, Glee & 2 Broke Girls all find themselves back in the finals. New Girl returns to the finals, after being there in 2013. Jane The Virgin, Shameless, The Goldbergs and Veep all make their debuts in the finals.
The Best Comedy Actor Category will see the winners of the last 3 awards battle it out again. Two time winner & defending champion Jim Parsons "The Big Bang Theory" had a slight lead over 2013 winner Chris Colfer "Glee" in the semi-finals. With 5 of last years 10 finalists not making the finals this year, either thru being voted out, or no longer eligible, there is a new crop of contenders to make a run at the two champs. Timothy Omundson "Galavant" is back in the finals, after making it there 3 times in a row for his work on "Psych". Simon Helberg returns a 3rd time to join his "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim parsons in the finals along with 1st time finalist Kevin Sussman. Chris Pratt "Parks And Recreation" finds himself back in the finals for the first time since 2011. Andy Samberg and Terry Crews "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" both make the finals, this is Sambergs 2nd time after making it last year. Tituss Burgess "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", William H. Macy "Shameless", Don Cheadle "House Of Lies", Charlie Day "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" and "Modern family" duo Ed O'Neil and Ty Burrell all find themselves in the finals for the first time. The Best Comedy Actress Category seems to be headed for another battle between the two 2X Winners in this c ategory from The Big Bang Theory. Kaley Cuoco (2011, 2013) and Mayim Bialik (2012, 2014) have dominated this category since its inception, winning all 4 titles between them. This year, things are so close that the semi-finals saw the pair TIE for first. Last years final was decided by TWO (2) votes. So the tie isnt really too big of a shocker. Their co-star Melissa Rauch will again join them in the finals for the 3rd consecutive year. The Big Bang Theory trio will see their competition this year come from the likes of 3X finalist Kat Dennings "2 Broke Girls" with a 3rd place finish in the semi-finals, she looks to improve on her career best 5th place last year.. Orange Is The New Black duo of Taylor Schilling and Uzo Aduba are back in the finals after making them for the 1st time last year. Glee again has Jane Lynch (in her 5th try) and Lea Michele ( her 4th try). Zooey Deschanel "New Girl" returns for a 3rd time to the final after missing last years finals. Sofia Vergara "Modern Family" and Amy Poehler "Parks And Recreation" both return to the finals for their 2nd time. Newcomers to the finals include "Jane The Virgin" Golden Globe winning actress Gina Rodriguez, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" star Ellie Kemper, "Fresh off the Boat" star Constance Wu, Chelsea Peretti from "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", Wendi McLendon-Covey "The Goldbergs" and Anna Faris "Mom". Last years winner Isaac Hempstead-Wright from "Game Of Thrones" is back, along with the 2013 winner Robbie Kay for his work on "Heroes Reborn", previously he won with his work on "Once Upon A Time". But its regular finalsts Jared Gilmore "Once Upon A Time" and Chandler Riggs "The Walking Dead", along with David Mazouz "Gothqam" who led the semi-final voting & look like they will give serious competition for the title this year. The Best Youth Actress Category looks like it might again go to the 2013 winner Maisie Williams from "Game Of Thrones:". After losing the 2014 title to now over 20 actress Bex Taylor-Klaus, the inagural winner looks to have a serious run at a 2nd title set up. While some competition was put in for the semi-finals from unexpected contender Chandler Kinney from "Gortimer Gibbons Life On Normal Street" and Camren Bicondova from "Gotham", Williams seems like the safe bet in this category again. The Best New Program Category seems poised to crown a female led hero show this year. Jessica Jones, Supergirl and Agent carter were the top 3 vote getters in the semi-finals. While Quantico & Daredevil were also close to the leaders. Fear The Walking Dead makes the finals, hoping to follow in its origin shows footsteps and win the New Program award. Two comedies Galavant & Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt eek into the finals, making them the first comedies to make the finals since 2011 Breaking In did so. The Final round of the 2015 Best Of TV Awards will be under way with some categories soon. Each voting round will last 3 to 6 days.
