Not even nominated last year, and only a semi-finalist in 2011, Colfer won this year despite being last after the 1st 2 days of the voting. Once fans of the man who brings openly gay character Kurt Hummel to life on "Glee" realized he was in the finals, they rallied support for him quickly. Colfer won with 917 votes.
