If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The Flash was on location for the season 8 crossover Armageddon. They were filming in the exact same spot I caught them a couple cross overs ago for Elseworlds where Flash & Barry, in opposite costumes, teamed up with Superman & Supergirl to beat Amazo. Last night, the scene only had 2 actors, but the spoiler from it is 1 that has garnered even more attention than I think that 1 did. Grant Gustin as The Flash did a scene with Tony Curran as human form of Despero. In the battle, Grant seems to emerge from out of a cloud of smoke, while Despero is on the ground. At one point Despero does something that causes a car to explode, but much of the fight seems to have Despero on the ground. For once, The Flash seems to have the upper hand. That was all there really was to the scene. I cant recall anything else of note. So thats it for this blog pos..... wait, no, I think I remember something else. Something that definitely stuck out. Yeah yeah, it was also cold out. So cold in fact, that I for once quit earlier than I had planned because I wasnt prepared for the temperature drop there was. So yeah, thats it for this report. I will have more when some more filming happens. Nothing much to this report. Wait, did I... did I forget to mention Barry had a change to his wardrobe? Silly me. Uhhh, yeah, so he had.... GOLD BOOTS! After several seasons of people begging & pleading with the show to give him gold boots, and Eric Wallace specifically stating he would get them eventually, after he "earns them", Barry Allenw as sporting some shiny new boots on set. As soon as I saw them, I shot 1 take of it, and headed immediately home (I actually ran, which I never do, and not for that long of a distance [approx 3 blocks] to get 1 pic of it up on Patreon for everyone..... and its been received very well pretty much everywhere. Two consecutive Friday night shoots have seen Grant in very different costumes from what we have expected to see him in. If you missed last Fridays big spoiler, you can find that report HERE. There will be some video from scenes from this cross over to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop. Some from the first part of the cross over is already up there. You can find ALL of The Flash videos I have shot since right back to the pilot episode HERE on Youtube. They were filming in the exact same spot I caught them a couple weeks ago. I dont know if these were part of the same episode, or, if they are for a different part of the cross over. One thing that is certain, some big things were happening on this set. When I first showed up, they were doing blocking for the first scene with Grant Gustin as ???, and Arrow & Legends Of Tomorrow former big bad Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk. After rehearsals, Grant stopped to take a photo with a fan, then told the rest of the crowd of 30 or so people he would be back to do more photos with later. Several fans waited around on that promise, only to eventually all leave without that encounter. When Grant returned, he was in a costume, but not the typical red speedster outfit. This time he was dressed in an all yellow outfit, outside of a red belt & boots. WHAT? That is right, Grant was dressed as the Reverse Flash. Makes me remember that time in Crisis On Earth X, when Eobard said to Barry, that he wonders what face he'll be wearing the next time they meet. The scene itself wasnt too much, as it just saw Reverse Flash & Damien talking in the middle of the street, before Reverse Flash zips away. They filmed for about 30-45 minutes, and that was it for Grant working that night. I only myself got to see 2 takes, because I just happened to leave at the wrong time & missed about 60% of the shoot. It is so rare that I pick the wrong time to leave, I honestly cant recall the last time I did that. After that some stunt work was done with Killer Frost, Chill Blaine ( Danielle Panabaker & Jon Cor did some scenes later, but first was stunts) & Damien Darhk doing a fight. With Team Cold battling Damien. A little later was a scene with Danielle & Jon doing a quick piece of dialogue, then walking towards where Damien was. The night ended with another spoiler Osric Chau as Ryan Choi, on set in his version of the ATOM suit. He did a scene with Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers in her Sentinel outfit, doing a scene where they stop Damien Darhl from doing something with a jagged looking sword type item. Ryan does something to its weight, making it impossible for Damiek to pick up & Alex knocks him out with something that seemed like a tazer maybe, before the two heroes walk away together. This was not the best shots I have ever taken. So I didnt spend a lot of time editing these ones. Especially since Froggy has better ones below that I was being allowed to post. After that, the cast was wrapped for the night, and so was I. They did some stunt work till 7 AM, but I called it a night at 5 AM. At the end of a very long night (especially considering she was called in almost 4 hours earlier than she had to be in the end) Chyler came over and signed for the couple people that still were there at 5AM without any complaints. Below my set is an EXTRA photo set from a guest photographer (twitter profile), Frog Photo. If you decide to re-post their content, I advise you read the paragraph before their photos at the bottom. Yesterday I caught up with them filming part 2 of their 5 part cross over event. This episode is being directed by Menhaj Huda. On this day, the cast & crew were shooting scenes in Coal Harbour in downtown Vancouver. The scenes were done almost entirely in the pouring rain, which varied between a light mist, and a downpour throughout the day. At the beginning of the day, they were doing a stunt scene that had CCPD cars racing down the street, with a Central City Museum truck. As they get to the intersection, an unknown character (played by Kandyse McClure) is standing there. At the beginning, they had a stunt double there, who would move out of the way as the cars come to a stop. Later they did the scene again, with the stunt double there, then the actress came in to replace her double, to do the close up/speaking part of the role. After that, Grant Gustin came out, did a run through rehearsal in his own clothes, before leaving to get ready to film. The actress was still there during the run through, but I never saw a scene where they were both in together in the scene. But they were still filming when I finally left. So perhaps it was a really late scene. At one point the rain was really intense, and I'm not saying its a coincidence, buuut, they didnt do a single thing for about 90 minutes. For about 30 of those minutes, they had the background people standing out in the rain, in position, just waiting to work. Eventually they gave up waiting for the downpour to break, and eventually did work through it. When they did, Grant came out in his Flash suit, and did a scene where he comes zipping in, and seems to attempt to run at something (I assume this mystery woman, but can not confirm it), before he gets stopped. They then went on lunch break after that scene. When they were on lunch break, Cody Laudan was out there in his Flash attire doing rehearsals where he was being lifted into the air. I left for a while, as the weather wasnt great. When I returned, Grant & Cody were out there, and I was a little shocked to see that instead of Cody going up in the air, they had Grant all hooked up in the rigging, and he did scenes where he was lifted into the air, laid out on his back, and was screaming, then was turned upright, and held there for a moment, before being let down. That was all I saw. As I said, they were still shooting when I left. But, it didnt seem like there was going to be much else of note going on. So that is it for now. The other day I caught up with them filming part 1 of their 5 part cross over event titled "Armageddon", that episode is being directed by Eric Dean Seaton. I do not know if this set is from that same episode still, or a different episode. You can find that set report HERE On this day, the cast & crew had moved 1 & 1/2 blocks up the street to an area used by a lot of productions, including The Flash itself in the past for the very first location I ever found of them during the pilot episode. You can see that wayyyy back set report HERE Early in the day, I checked out this location, but it was clear they werent filming any time soon, so I left and came back a few hours later. In the first scene out there, they had Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, with Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, doing a scene where they were just walking along together. I never saw the scene shot from the front side, I only saw 1 partial take of it when I got over there. When I first showed up, they had already been shooting the scene for a couple takes. But what others told me, I didnt miss anything context, or action wise. It was just them walking along. The photos I have in the set of them, is from them walking back from the end of the take. After their lunch break, they set up for a couple night time scenes. First up was Grant again with his stunt double Cody Laudan, doing a scene where The Flash gets tossed across the pavement, then gets up and eventually runs off. It was a very short scene, and was wrapped up after a couple takes. After that scene, they wrapped Grant, and had Tony Curran come in, wearing a different wardrobe than I saw him in two days earlier on set. this time. This time, Despero was dressed like some type of European looking warrior with a belt buckle that would glow. He did scenes where he is talking to/at someone/something, while cars burn around him. They then finished off the night with some more stunts, with a variety of people running around in a panic, while the cars from the scene Tony did, were burning. That was it for the night. Some of the setting pieces they had, included signage for Central City Parking, a spray painted sign that said "The End Is Nigh", a sign for a pub called "Robern's", a strange futuristic looking green car that they never used outside of being in the background of the stunt running scene, and a little stand with a sign saying "West Party". I dont know if any of those pieces ever were more important than background info, but from the time I was there, I never saw anything going on that would suggest they had any relevance to the scenes. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The Flash was on location for the season 8 premiere. This is part 1 of their 5 part cross over event titled "Armageddon", and it is being directed by Eric Dean Seaton. After not being able to find them anywhere in their 1st week back to filming this upcoming season. I have found them twice now in the last week. Unlike my first report HERE, there was a lot to report on for this set... This time, Grant Gustin as The Flash was on set, with his stunt double Cody Laudan doing the big stunts. With him was the recently announced returning Arrowverse star Brandon Routh as The ATOM. Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, Brandon McKnight as Chester P. Runk were also on set from The Flash cast. Joining them all, was the recently announced villain for the cross over, Tony Curran as Despero. The day started with them doing a stunt of The Flash getting thrown across the spacious sidewalk into a crushed up Central City Taxi. The scenes seemed to be taking place outside the Central City Technology Conference. At one point I overheard the crew discussing an upcoming scene, and it was to have The Flash getting thrown through a window of the convention, out to the ground where we see the scene being shot. After the stunts ended, they brought out the cast to film a large scene that had Grant take over from where Cody finished his stunt, huddled up in a pile at the side of the taxi. The Flash turns and looks up high, where Tony was standing on a ladder. Dialogue is exchanged, before Despero raises his hand in the air as if he was about to do something menacing, when a sparking sound can be heard, Despero disappears, and The ATOM arrives. He goes over to where The Flash is just starting to lift himself up off the ground, and the pair have a few words, before Chester & Iris come to join them. The pair are both wearing press passes for the conference. So were they there just by coincidence, or did they know trouble was brewing, and went there because of it? The group of 4 then have a conversation that goes on for maybe 30 seconds, before the scene wraps. Later, they had a scene, again where Cody starts the scene, this time, throwing himself across the sidewalk, then Grant would come in and take over. Again, The ATOM shows up, and this SEEMS to be perhaps the first time the pair have seen each other in the cross over, as The ATOM makes a comment about it seems his suit still fits (which is really fucking stupid, because Felicity Smoak once fit in the suit, so it seems the suit will fit whatever physical needs are required), and the two heroes fist bump each other, before turning their attention on the threat. They focus on 1 direction, before you hear Iris yell at them asking "who are they firing at?", then Chester pipes up "yeah, hes behind you", which makes the heroes turn around, and face the direction where Despero is. A bit later, while some of the cast were wrapping up their day, they did a scene with Grant doing a running jump & punch scene. After that, he wrapped, and they finished off the day with Tony wearing a camera on his head for close up shots of him doing his Despero scenes. At points in the day, they had a cardboard cut out of the Despero character from the shoulders up, out as a reference point for the actors to look at when Tony wasnt there. Others who have reported on these photos already have pointed out, the same thing I will now. This might not be the completed look. It is likely from pre-production concept art. But there is 1 photo at the end of the set showing what they had. The Flash season 8 will begin November 16 with their 5 event semi-crossover event on The CW in the U.S. Or on their app the next day.
