The Flash was on location for the season 7  finale. After catching them at several locations for the penultimate episode (their 150th episode) earlier this month, I wondered if I would see them out for the finale as much. Last 2 nights, I got my first look at them on location for the season 7 finale.

As I reported in my 1st report on the finale HERE, The Flash cast & crew were doing scenes around Science World. On this night, they were working on continuations from the night befores big fight. Grant Gustin was there as The Flash, Tom Cavanagh as Reverse Flash, and recently identified by Youtuber Pagey, (and confirmed by me at the set after he told me the name) Karan Oberoi was there as Godspeed. Their stunt doubles were all there too, as you can see from 1 of the photos below where all 6 of them are in 1 shot between takes, but I saw almost no use of them while I was there, only 1 I saw being used was Godspeeds double.

Unlike the night prior, these scenes had a different twist on what we were seeing shot the night before. This time, we see Godspeed seemingly beating The Flash again, doing his chest power suction thing, when this time Reverse Flash sneaks up on Godspeed, waits for him to turn around, and stabs him thru the chest with 1 of those mystery green sticks. Godspeed crumples to the ground, seemingly dead. Barry run over to check on him, seeming to show concern for the fallen "god", then yells at Reverse Flash "what have you done?", the pair then stand and have a conversation, Barry obviously looking displeased, while Eobard stood there with an I did what had to be done because you wouldnt feel to his posture. Then we see Thawne try to punch Barry, and Barry dips out of the way (similar to what I saw Mirror Monarch do to him back earlier this season) and as his fist goes by his face, Barry grabs Reverse Flashs arm, and simulates a hip toss, sending Eobard about 60 feet away onto the ground. When he gets up, Barry zips over, and they have ANOTHER conversaiton, where Eobard yells at Barry "I made you", before looking at himself with his arms down in front of him for some reason, then they stand off for a few more seconds (maybe Barry speaks? I didnt have a good view of his side), before Reverse Flash runs off. Barry then turns around, and runs over to the body of Godspeed, and the scene ends.

The Flash was on location for the season 7 finale. After catching them at several locations for the penultimate episode (their 150th episode) earlier this month, I wondered if I would see them out for the finale as much. Last night, and early this morning, I got my first look at them on location for the season 7 finale.

An early in the day location at a place just outside of the downtown core I did not get to in time to see any filming, but I do have a minor tidbit to add to the blog at a later date from there.

But onto what you really came here for.... The Flash cast & crew were filming on an overnight shoot outside Science World in the area between the downtown core, and Olympic Village. Grant Gustin was on set as The Flash. There was also a Godspeed on set, and I actually heard the guy speaking this night (plus I also saw him I believe at a set for 7x17), so is THE Godspeed? (update - Karan Oberoi is the name playing Godspeed) But 1 person I had not planned on seeing, was the recently announced to be leaving, Tom Cavanagh. If thats not a crazy enough spoiler for you.....

The scenes the trio did, all were part of a fight scene. It starts with The Flash & Godspeed in a battle that eventually sees Godspeed with the upper hand, and seemingly ready to kill Barry, when someone comes in to stop him. Is it Frost? Vibe? One of his kids? NO! REVERSE FLASH! That is correct, Tom is back as Reverse Flash, AND he helped Barry out in his fight with Godspeed. After Reverse Flash sends Godspeed flying across the courtyard, Barry slowly gets partially up, before Reverse Flash puts out a hand to help him up, and Barry accepts. The pair get up, and then seemingly head into the next part of the fight.
Much later, after lunch, they did a scene I saw them rehearse early in the night with the trio in a fight with glowing green sticks (I did think at first they were light sabers, but they sounded more wooden sadly). In the fight, Godspeed fights off the pair. The only part of any dialogue I ever really heard crystal clear was "you cant kill a God" coming from Godspeed.

What all does this mean???? Is Reverse Flash getting a redemption arc? Is this a temporary alliance to take on a more problematic foe for both of them? We will have to wait & see.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday morning, afternoon and evening for episode 717. The director is Eric Dean Seaton, he directed the The Exorcism Of Nash Wells episode last season. This is also the 150th episode for the series.

On this day, they had 3 locations. The first, was a small quiet, rarely used side street not far from the location they use for S.T.A.R. Labs exteriors, and just a block down the road from where Abra Kadabra was killed by Fuerza earlier this season.

This early morning shoot had Grant Gustin as The Flash, along with returning star Jessica Parker Kennedy as XS, along with recently announced new addition to the cast, Jordan Fisher, as Bart Allen, aka Impulse.

For this scene, they started with stunts, as the stunt double for Impulse did a scene where he, and 1 of the several Godspeeds that were on the set, are thrown across the pavement. Both of them ge tup quickly, and face off, but soon, Impulse finds himself surrounded by a gang of 6 Godspeeds. They raise their arms up, Impulse cowers..... and then the Godspeeds just leave.... a moment later, XS & The Flash come in, and the family have a chat.

There were a couple other scenes done on the day at other locations I will get to in a later blog post sometime this weekend, or early next week.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday evening, and night for episode 715. The director is Geoff Shotz, he directed the Alls Wells That Ends Wells episode earlier this season.

The cast & crew of The Flash were busy in downtown Vancouver Friday, with 3 different location shoots (although 2 of them were across the street from each other)

In the daytime scene, at the CBC building, they were filming a short little scene that had 2 characters on set. But who were these two characters?? Well, one was the returninf fan favorite villain Godspeed. He was joined by..... Godspeed. Yes, there was multiple Godspeeds, and no, it wasnt a cast of 1 being a stand in, or stunt double for the other. They were both in frame for the filming when they were rolling. I dont know how long they hare been filming before I got there. But they shot this scene for about 15-20 minutes while I was there. It essentially had the pair of Godpseeds standing there, looking around for a moment, and that was it. But it gave me a chance to photograph them in the daytime, so I'm okay with whatever the scene was for. In the background of the scene, they has some U.S. flags flying, a sign for the entrance to the Central City Museum, and them a bit further back, was an ad for Big Belly Burger, featuring their uhhh "new double cheeseburger"??? Seriously? I'm supposed to believe a major burger franchise in the U.S. somehow DID NOT have a double cheeseburger on their menu from day one?

Anyways, the crew then crossed the street to the exterior of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, which they have renamed to the Central City Theater. Beside it, they changed a restaurant theres name to "Taco Whiz". Which left me confused. Is it like a Cheese Whiz, but taco flavoured? Or did they name their taco establishment after how fast they will go through your body? In any case, doesnt sound appetizing.

Outside of there,  the crew filmed a few small scenes, all with Grant Gustin or his stunt double Cody Laudan as The Flash. First scene had Cody getting thrown across the lot by a couple of the Godspeeds. It was a short scene, so I saw 1 take of it. So I am unsure if more stunts were done after, as I left for a bit to go fgrab food, and when we came back, they were setting up for the next shot. Grant finally got on set, and did a scene were he comes zipping in, and observing something weird (I'll get to that in a minute), or being surrounded by the Godspeeds, which now totaled 6 for this scene. Yes, you read that right, there was now SIX Godspeed clones (I know on twitter it was said there was 7, but there was 6.... but at the time of the users tweet, it was fair to be mistaken, as they were all moving around before filming). In the scene, all surrounding Barry as he was on the ground. A bit later, the most WTF moment of the night happened. Barry comes zipping into the scene, looks around, and sees the group of Godpseeds..... having a Royal Rumble. The 6 pack og Godspeeds were all fighting each other, in pairs, and Barrys body language seemed to have a n "ummm ok, what?" look to it. After they finished those scenes, they did a bit more of the fighting scene of the Godspeeds, as Grant left for a long break. I also chose to leave at that time, and headed to their 3rd location, unaware at the time I'd be waiting FOREVER for that one to start.

During the break at one point, Grant went over and chatted with a couple of the Godspeeds, which made for a fairly entertaining set of photos, as it looks like hes trying to use the power of love to talk Godspeed out of doing bad things, but it was actually just in between takes.

Down the street about 3 blocks away, they were also set up for The Flash to film at. This one was at B.C. Place Stadium. For those that are observant, you know that is the location they use for the exterior of S.T.A.R. Labs, but, they have also used it for other things. But on this day, it was in fact, S.T.A.R. Labs, as the signage outside B.C. Place showed. Now I spent quite a while there waiting for them to film, and they didnt get to filming till close to 2 AM. When they finally did, there was nearly nothing to be seen. So little, that the few photos I did get it I didnt think were worth even posting. All I can confirm from the scenes there, The Flash was there, some of the Godspeeds were there, and at some point The Flash is on the ground.

So thats it for this busy night of filming there. Godspeed is back!!! Are you excited?

The Flash was on location for episode 18 of the 6th season in downtown Vancouver around the same location they had the final battle with Bloodwork for the end of the first half of season 6. It was a busy area for filming last night, as Batwoman was filming quite literally on the next block over. But I spent my time at The Flash, and good thing I did.

Apologies in advance for some less than great photos. It was a perfect storm of things not going my way last night. Besides the typical Vancouver rain that I usually am used to, it was also pretty windy at times, I also was trying to work through that with my worst umbrella, as I have lost, or broken my other two better ones this season, and all that was amplified by the fact that TWICE in the night, I had my settings on my camera wrong. It was not a fun night all around.

Last night they started a scene being done that included a couple stunt scenes first, with Grant Gustin and his stunt double Cody Laudan as The Flash in a battled versus........

GODSPEED!

Yes, you heard that right.

There were a couple scenes. First, one where they dropped a stuntman in the Godspeed outfit form several floors up onto a vehicle. A fan actually caught the rehearsal for this stunt earlier in the day here. After that Cody came out to do a scene where The Flash got thrown into a van. There was then a scene where Godspeed seems to be looking down at The Flash on the ground, and might be kneeling down towards him, when The Flash zips out of there.

Lots of questions to be asked & answered from this reveal. Is this the actual Godspeed? is it another knock off like he battled at the start of the season? Is Godspeed part of Black Hole?

However, Godspeed was not the only returnee last night. After Godspeeds first set of scenes, he left, and someone (I never was able to confirm if it was the same person, my vision isnt the best... if anyone else can confirm, or deny, or identify the person, please comment with that & I will update it) came in to do scenes dressed in a cloack, with gauntlets that glow green..... sound familiar?  Pied Piper seems to be back. Oh, and he is helping The Flash.

The pair did some scenes where they appear to be fighting Godspeed, as they both look up. At one point you hear someone yell out for The Flash, whether it was a crew member calling out a mark to Grant, or Piper asking him to help him, or to tell him to do something specific, I couldnt hear, all I heard was Flashs name get called out. A bit later, they did a scene where they slowly encroach on the vehicle Godspeed fell on. They get closer and Godspeed is laying flat out on the top of the crumpled vehicle.

After that scene, they moved into the street. It was pouring rain, windy, and the only angle I had to see the scene was quite literally from just a bit under 2 blocks away thru traffic going along a major road, and all the crew & prop vehicles, so I only stayed for 3 or 4 takes of this scene. The scene SEEMED to have Godspeed grabbing a random person (if it is someone, I cant tell) while others run around in a panick. There also seemed to be a guy standing beside him at the start of the scene in a beige jacket wearing what appears to be sunglasses, which would be a bit odd in the middle of the night. Not sure if he is someone, or just a random crew/background person there. I know Grant went to set for this scene, so The Flash is in the scene..... somewhere, but I had a very limited window of space to view any of the scene which was frankly massive, so it was just luck that the part I could see had Godspeed in it. At about 3 AM, I decided I had enough of this, and went home. They were scheduled to film there for a couple more hours. So who knows what more might have gone on.

Lastly, I just have to laugh at the Central City downtown map that doesnt actually have any street names, or the names of hotels etc. Just expects people to know what the street names are, and which hotel is which etc...... also, CC has several downtown Gas Stations..... while Vancouver itself only has ONE lol. There also was a van there for "Central City Crossover Comix & Collectibles" that seems to be owned by Barney Sands.... who is a character in the comics, as a neighbour of Barry as a kid.

The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 518 last week. As you may have already heard from my previous blog post HERE there was a scene going on with Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West Allen and Grant Gustin as Barry Allen in the future. I never really could hear what Barry said, but I clearly heard Nora on multiple takes say "Dad, you dont have to do this. I promise I'll never see Thawne again.".

But now, here is some video from 1 of those takes, and you can see the fear and panic in Noras face as Barry leaves her there in 2049.... but WHY is she so panicked?

The episode is directed by The Flash co-star Danielle Panabaker.
