THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON 3 FINALE OF THE FLASH. If you do not want to see or read any possible spoilers for this episode, please do not read on or view the photos below. . . . last warning . . The Flash shot scenes for their 3rd season finale in a couple locations last week. First was a scene at Mountain View Cemetery in East Vancouver with every main cast member, and a couple guest stars. In fact the only notable member missing for the scene was Violett Beane. So, start your theorizing now on whos funeral they were there for. At the cemetery we had Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Keiynan Lonsdale (Wally West/Kid Flash), Candice Patton (Iris West), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon/Vibe), Tom Cavanagh (H.R. Wells/Harrison Wells), Tom Felton (Julian Dorn), John Wesley Shipp (Jay Garrick/The Flash), Jessica Camacho (Cindy Reynolds/Gypsy) & Anne Dudek (Tracy Brand) So whos funeral is it? Well, if you take the time to look down the cast list, your first instinct would be to assume Jessie Quick, since Violett Beane is not on set. A smaller possibility could be Cecile, Joes love interest since Danielle Nicolet is also not there & it would seem more probable to kill off a secondary characters love interest than 1 of the iconic speedsters. But the answer isnt as clear as that theory would suggest. The one thing we all know about The Flash universe, and I have seen almost no one talk about is, the infinite versions of each others characters there are. We've seen Tom Cavanagh play 5 different versions of himself already.... so when I finally tell you whos funeral they were all at, you'll go "ohh of course... I forgot about the multiple versions of each other.". So yes, the funeral is for a character played by someone that is also at the funeral. Thats the first thing we all need to know before I go any further. So you can cross Jessie Quick & Cecile off your list. Now its reasonable to assume that the crew didnt get together for a tear filled funeral to mourn a 2nd version of Anne Dudeks character since we barely know her 1st version. You know what, I could go on for an hour telling you why it could/couldnt be each other. Its for H.R. Wells. The version of Wells we see in the photos is Harrison (E2) "Harry" Wells, Jessies father, version of Wells. With the team all there I know it left a lot of people theorizing (I've read/watched some of these theories, and I have seen the more obvious assumptions like Iris West, or Joe West, to the more improbable ideas that its Barry Allen or even "Savitar".) about who is it and why and how etc. So you can start going around to all the different bloggers/vloggers you follow who had their sure fire ideas on who it could be and were wrong, and tell them they are wrong.... I know you want to. Its what the internet lives to do. Just remember when you do so, you were almost definitely wrong yourself. There was very little of the scenes we could see and nothing we could hear. So piecing together what some of the photos during takes, which were few & far between is hard to decipher the context. I can tell you 80-90% of the photos in this post are from the cast AFTER the scenes were cut, as the vast majority of the scene took place behind two massive low lying trees (convenient, or intentionally planned). The one part we do see is Barry consoling Cisco. Theres also a scene were we see Barry, Cisco and I believe someone else (not entirely sure anymore) over at a different tree talking with Caitlin. At the end of their talk, Caitlin walks away from them thru the graveyard. In between takes, many of the cast were in pretty great moods on the rare sunny day Vancouver has had of late. Tom Felton walked around playing his guitar from time to time, and even let Mr. Cavanagh use it for a bit. Danielle Panabaker seemed to either be skipping thru, or maybe trying not to step, on the gravestones after one of her takes, of course theres the post I tweeted with Carlos Valdes seemingly trying to lift up the dead weight of Grant Gustin in 1 moment. For the most part, the cast seemed to be 1 big happy group. With more or less everyone, including newcomer Anne Dudek, seemingly walking to & from set with other cast chatting. The why & the how, is a bit less clear... although I had my own theories on it. But I wont go into that, because I dont do theory posts here very often/ever. This set was pretty rare by The Flash standards, as most of the time a location shoot has 1-3 characters on set. With 10 (9 regulars/recurrings & Anne Dudek) this was easily the largest single day of cast on set I can recall. So no shock, it was also the best for meeting the cast. with the exception of Anne Dudek (who no one but me even knew), Jesse L Martin & Candice Patton, everyone in the cast signed autographs &/or took photos with people at some point throughout the day. A later shoot, which many of you found on youtube saw that same cast shooting a scene, minus Danielle. I will have a post on that coming up soon.... but for now, here is the daytime shoot photos. The Flash airs Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. You can dind my other blog posts on The Flash HERE You can find cast autographs from The Flash HERE

THIS POST IS FOR "THE FLASH" SEASON 3, EITHER EPISODE 309 OR 310. If you have not seen this episode & do not want to see or read possible spoilers, do not continue reading or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . The Flash shot a scene in October in Victory Square that could be for episode 309 or 310 (I sort of forgot now which ep they were on). The scene is pretty epic in a lot of ways.... but, knowing how the show is, and considering 1 of the cast in the scene had just recently let it drop at a convention that she had recently read the script for an episode several weeks after this episode, its kind of 1 of those anti-climactic spoilers that will be ruined by a convenient writing switch to completely erase the impact of the scene. In this particular scene, A stunt actor in a CGI motion capture suit that is supposed to be Savitar faces off with Grant Gustin as Barry Allen as The Flash. Savitar is holding Candice Patton as Iris West at the top of a staircase in Victory Square, while Barry stands at the bottom. Eventually Savitar make some motion that leaves the limp lifeless body of Iris West falling before Barry catches her as she falls. I know a few people asked on twitter about how I know he kills her. Well, plain & simple. Things I have seen and heard on set that night. Thats all I can say on it right now. Obviously, as anyone knows. There is NO WAY the writers are killing off Iris West. In fact the actress said at a convention panel just days afterwards that she had already read the scripts for episode 14 which would imply shes still around (of course, whos to say shes not an Iris from a different Earth now.) Several things could be happening in this scene. It could be a dream. It could be a different earth. It could even be that she is actually killed and Barry has to do that unspeakable act of going and resetting time...... again. We will just have to wait & see how it unfolds. Now this scene is unusual for several reasons. First, no actual actor was on set for the part of Savitar, just a stunt stand in guy the first time. Second, they shot this entire scene over again a few weeks later, but there was a slight difference in the fact other cast were also on set that were not around for the original scene that I shot in October. Third, they DID have an actor on set as Savitar for the 2nd time they did this shoot, former Twilight star Daniel Cudmore was in the Savitar outfit. Fourth, doing such a public scene for such a notable moment is rare. As a fan on set that night told me when I told him what the scene was they were shooting, he replied "oh yeah, they do that in the comics". But even with that knowledge, I'm shocked they would shoot it in a public location (granted they tried to do it as late as possible & tried covering it up as much as possible.... the 1st time.). Whether this is in the mid-season finale tomorrow night, or the mid-season premiere, I cant be too sure. The Flash airs Tuesday nights on The CW in The U.S. and on CTV in Canada. If you have not seen this episode & dont want to see possible spoilers from the episode, do not continue reading or viewing the photos. . . . last warning . . The next episode of The Flash will be the 9th episode of the 3rd season..... which means the shows 3rd annual appearance of Mark Hamill. This seasons appearance by the Star Wars legend & 1990s The Flash guest star will see his James Jesse character looking a little bit different than usual. The Flash shot scenes for this episode with Hamill on set in downtown in Vancouver. Also on set was Grant Gustin as the shows lead character, Barry Allen aka The Flash. But also on set this time was John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick aka The Flash on earth 3. More importantly, he was ALSO in the 1990s version of The Flash.... as the shows version of The Flash. Despite some exceptionally aggressive efforts from the crew to block the scene from being seen by the public on the VERY public & busy corner of Burrard they chose to shoot it on.. I still managed a few shots. On this day we saw James Jesse shoot scenes with purple hair & his face painted up, he was walking out of a bank with bags (probably full of money). Then he drops the bags, and pulls out a tommy gun and seemingly shoots it at someone/somewhere that was off camera. Eventually they did a scene where Jay comes in and apprehends James. A little while later they did a scene where James is taken away to a Police van while Jay stands around and eventually is joined by Barry. A scene with the two Flashes just chatting was next. Just before they went on lunch break, director Kevin Smith showed up on set to say hi to some of the cast & crew that he had worked with in the past. Smith was in town working on Supergirl at the time. I know a lot of blogging sites, and even a "news" site commented on this shoot. The big question being "is Mark Hamill playing "the Joker" in this episode?" Of course James Jesse is better known to Flash fans as "The Trickster" but it was clear from his entire ensemble, he didnt look like the regular Trickster we are used to. Since Hamill is also known as "the voice of The Joker" to many for his work voicing the iconic DC character in a a plethora of projects going back to the early 90s, a lot of fans jumped to this assumption. However I dont think The Flash writers would have gotten the ok to use that characters name with the character currently being in use by the movie portion of DC. A more probable role is "the Jokester" who IS another DC character with some similiarities to the iconic Joker, and even is from Earth 3 and has purple hair. Speaking of that hair... Mark Hamill didnt cheap out & have the wardrobe department concoct a wig for him, he actually dyed his hair purple as I found out the next day when I caught up to Mr. Hamill leaving town & noticed the purpleish locks poking out from under his togue while he was signing autographs for some of us. The Flash airs on Tuesday nights oN The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. This episode will be on next week December 6, 2016. You can find our other BTS posts on The Flash filming HERE. If you have not seen this episode yet & do not want to read or see anything about the episode. Please do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last chance . . The Flash filmed a scene for season 3 in Yaletown on August 3rd with Grant Gustin and Candice Patton. The scene was pretty simple. Grant, as Barry Allen was making every effort to woo Candice, as Iris West, his adoptive sister lets not forget, to date him. Seemingly the scene sees Barry waiting for Iris to come out for a date. With him, he has two massive floral displays, one in the shape of a heart, the other spelling out his adoptive sisters name. During the rehearsals after 1 take, Grant laughingly said "I guess now we're going out now". Which got a mixture of laughs and groans from the crowd watching the filming. But during the actual filming, both him and Candice put on their game faces and worked their way thru the awkward pseudo incestual moment that the writers insist isn't supposed to be weird. During breaks as the crew worked to set up different angles to film it from, Grant would hang out with fans at one point, and chat with crew on other breaks. While Candice sped back to the cast tent and away from the public as usual. There were scenes shot earlier that day in the same area that featured guest star Joey King, but I missed them by mere minutes as showed up just as Ms. king left. The Flash, season 3 debuts TONIGHT October 4, 2016 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. You can check out my other blog posts about The Flash filming in the past here. Those who are familiar with my blog or my twitter account are more than aware I generally have a disliking for 1 of the people in this set and try as much as I can to not post photos of them on this blog.... but, a couple fortunate moments fell in place for those looking for more pics of her. 1- I wanted a blog to post the day that The Flash season 3 arrived and 2- The only two sets I had of The Flash since my big season premiere spoiler blog post had said actress in it..... so here I find myself. So, enjoy. |
