The new CW series The Flash films scenes for the Pilot Episode with Grant Gustin and Candice Patton7/10/2014 As you may have seen from my 1st ever Flash blog post with the video, the CW pilot for the comic book hero series "The Flash" filmed a scene where they blow up a couple cars. They also filmed scenes before the crash stunt of Grant Gustin (Barry Allen aka The Flash ) leaving the scene of a car wreck. In this scene, Grant was clearly out of the car and seemed to sense the impending crash and "zipped" out of harms way before the explosion scene. Also filming scenes that afternoon was Candice Patton ( Iris West ). When the filming day was over, Grant came over to the 4 of us waiting to meet him, despite 1 of them angering a few crew throughout the day, Grant still came over & signed. Since my video of Grant Gustin doing a practice run in The Flash suit has finally broke 100,000 views (thanks everyone who re-posted it wherever) I felt I should reward your viewership with another video from The Flash filming. Well, 2 actually. This 1st 1 isn't anything special really. Its just a minute of Grant Gustin practicing getting down the specifics of what he needs to do to film a scene as Barry Allen where ue runs away (btw - this is his reaction to the speeding car that crashes into the other car from this blog post.) The second video is another of Grant as Barry Allen. In this one, he is doing a running scene, and nearly wipes out. Luckily he was ok. So far I've watched him nearly wipe out running & get walked into a crane by his assistant on the set of The Flash. Tough 1st episode for Grant. I have some still photos from this day as well, but I have a LOT of backlogged blogs from other shows currently on, so I will get to those once TV season has died down. The Flash will premiere sometime this September or October on The CW. You can catch Some guest appearances by some of the upcoming characters for The Flash in episodes 8 & 9 (Barry Allen) & 19 (Cisco Ramon & Caitlyn Snow) on Arrow this season on The CW THE FLASH star Grant Gustin does his 1st shoot in the costume in public in downtown Vancouver today3/11/2014 Last week, 1 of the other local autographers & I had a conversation with Grant Gustin about his upcoming role as Barry Allen aka - The Flash. The topic of promotional images for the show came up, and Grant said he didnt know when there would be some full suit ones. I told him, whenever they do a public shoot with you in the suit, there will be 1 that same day. I don't know if he thought I was serious or not, but I was. So it comes as no shock to me that coincidentally today there was a promo image of The Flash in the full outfit (a previous one was out of just the mask) which Grant himself tweeted a pic of it with the hashtag #TheFlashIsComing . I say coincidentally, because this just happened to be the 1st day that Grant Gustin was seen in public in The Flash costume. Hmmm. The scene was simple enough. The Flash runs through a courtyard that has been used by countless productions over the years and jumps off a stair case, lands, then proceeds with his run. But it was the 1st chance the public got to see of the DC Comics legendary character out on location for the Pilot filming. Grants day at this location started off a bit scary as he cracked his head quite hard on the crane they had the camera mounted on because the crew that were escorting him to his spot didnt warn him. They were so busy trying to keep him covered from the mound of fans & paps across the street waiting to see the scene (WHY who knows...he was gonna be seen for an hour after that in the outfit), they didnt cover off their 1st rule of their job, make sure the star is safe. Fortunately, after getting looked at by someone, he proceeded with his work day & did the scene without any more issues (at least that I saw). When his day was done, he got out of his costume & was hurried into an awaiting van. Here are some unofficial behind the scene photos of Grant doing his 1st public scene in the Flash costume. If you want to use the photos posted....please abide by the photo permissions rules stated on the right side of the screen. Those disobeying these very reasonable rules either willingly or unwillingly will be met with any & all required legal actions to have the photos removed. Depending on what your site hosts rules are about such infractions, this could result in the suspension or elimination of your site. As well here is as a short video of him doing a preparation run. The Flash, based off the DC Comic Book by the same name, is a spin-off of another Vancouver shot DC Comics show Arrow. Which Grant had a 2 episode guest star arc to introduce Barry Allen (aka - The Flash). The Flash should begin airing on The CW this fall. Earlier today I knew about a film shoot for the new pilot that The CW is shooting based on the comic book hero The Flash. Grant Gustin, who previously had recurring roles on "Glee" & "90210" before getting his big break as Barry Allen for 2 episodes of "Arrow" is the lead character in this CW adaptation of the comic book icon which was introduced to The CW viewers thru his 2 episode arc on Arrow. I will go more into depth about the series in another blog. One where Grant is actually featured. But this one, the 1st blog in this section is for a spectacular stunt scene. In the scene, a car comes down the street & crashes into a car that's already upside down on the street (how does someone NOT see that?). The result is a pretty amazing crash & explosion scene. The Flash is currently filming its pilot in Vancouver, Canada & is already expected to get at least a 13 episode season on The CW coming out this fall. |
