If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The Flash was on location for the season 8 premiere. The other day I caught up with them filming part 1 of their 5 part cross over event titled "Armageddon", that episode is being directed by Eric Dean Seaton. I do not know if this set is from that same episode still, or a different episode. You can find that set report HERE On this day, the cast & crew had moved 1 & 1/2 blocks up the street to an area used by a lot of productions, including The Flash itself in the past for the very first location I ever found of them during the pilot episode. You can see that wayyyy back set report HERE Early in the day, I checked out this location, but it was clear they werent filming any time soon, so I left and came back a few hours later. In the first scene out there, they had Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, with Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, doing a scene where they were just walking along together. I never saw the scene shot from the front side, I only saw 1 partial take of it when I got over there. When I first showed up, they had already been shooting the scene for a couple takes. But what others told me, I didnt miss anything context, or action wise. It was just them walking along. The photos I have in the set of them, is from them walking back from the end of the take. After their lunch break, they set up for a couple night time scenes. First up was Grant again with his stunt double Cody Laudan, doing a scene where The Flash gets tossed across the pavement, then gets up and eventually runs off. It was a very short scene, and was wrapped up after a couple takes. After that scene, they wrapped Grant, and had Tony Curran come in, wearing a different wardrobe than I saw him in two days earlier on set. this time. This time, Despero was dressed like some type of European looking warrior with a belt buckle that would glow. He did scenes where he is talking to/at someone/something, while cars burn around him. They then finished off the night with some more stunts, with a variety of people running around in a panic, while the cars from the scene Tony did, were burning. That was it for the night. Some of the setting pieces they had, included signage for Central City Parking, a spray painted sign that said "The End Is Nigh", a sign for a pub called "Robern's", a strange futuristic looking green car that they never used outside of being in the background of the stunt running scene, and a little stand with a sign saying "West Party". I dont know if any of those pieces ever were more important than background info, but from the time I was there, I never saw anything going on that would suggest they had any relevance to the scenes. The Flash season 8 will begin November 16 with their 5 event semi-crossover event on The CW in the U.S. Or on their app the next day. There will be some video from scenes from this cross over to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop. THIS BLOG POST IS FOR A "THE FLASH" SEASON 7 EPISODE 2 (and possibly 1), AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . PLEASE NOTE - Photo limits are in place for website use/social media posts. PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF FAMILIAR WITH THE NEW GUIDELINES POSTED HERE. I will not be responsible for your ignorance. If I file a takedown notice on you, it really is on you for not educating yourself. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting at the Vancouver Concention Centre in downtown Vancouver for a couple days. Along with a shoot on top of a parkade 3 blocks away later on the 2nd day. While there was not much to see on the 1st day (I found the set, but between the rain soaked glass, and the position of props & crew, it was impossible to tell what was being shot), I did get a shot of a few crates with Black Hole logos on them. As well as some type of beam type machine, which I dont yet know what it is for. On the 2nd day, there was a lot more to see however. In the morning, a scene was shot right outside the convention centre with Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, along with Victoria Park as Kamilla Hwang. If you werent paying really close attention while there you might have missed that this was in the mirrorverse, as the garbage bins, and dog walking signs there were printed in reverse.... even down to the spray cans Kamilla uses to spray paint (in the proper direction) a message to Iris had the labels on in reverse. The scene had Kamilla finishing up her message to Iris, when Iris shows up at that spot, sees her, and walks over to her gives her a hug, and the pair talk for about a minute, before walking off together. Where the pair were heading after this is unknown, as the scene ends about 20 steps later. This scene is for episode 7X02, as you may be able to see by the clapperboard. It is directed by Alexandra LaRoche, who has directed 5 other The Flash episodes in the past, as well as 8 other Arrowverse episodes from Legends Of Tomorrow, Arrow & Supergirl. As with all the other sets I have been to so far, the covid-19 guidelines in place by our government seemed to be getting met, as all the crew were masked up, equipment and crew stations were well spread out, and in between takes the cast were also wearing their masks. If you want to see more photos (without some watermarks) from this set, you can find them on Just Jared HERE, as a photographer I know came down to shoot the set after I let him know they were there. After that scene wrapped, the production moved back inside the convention centre to resume filming interior scenes. Thankfully, this taxpayer built, city block long, building comes with a LOT of glass on it. Making it easy to see whats going on inside.... long as you know where to look. In this particular case, on a level generally used for large convention hall events. I do not know if this scene is for episode 2, or 1, as I did not think till well after the fact to check and find out. It wasnt till I got home & saw a photo I had taken which made me suspicious that they were shooting parts of 2 episodes on the same day (this is NOT that rare of an occurrence, probably happens a dozen or so times a season). Without going into painstaking detail how I got the info, and what that info was, lets just say, what I saw made me think there were scenes for 2 episodes being shot on this day. On set for this scene was Grant Gustin as The Flash, Efrat Dor as Mirror Mistress, and their stunt doubles. The first scene I saw shot there was pretty simple. It had The Flash standing about 100 feet away from Mirror Mistress, and he simply goes running at her. After they shot that scene, I left for a while as I wanted to get some other work done, and it looked like they were going to keep re-doing that scene. I came back about an hour & 1/2 later and things had changed slightly, now they had Grants double up on a rolling cart. He was prepping a scene that Grant himself would do a bit later, where he goes charging towards Mirror Mistress in a horisontal fashio, with his arm shoved forward. Considering Grants love of Superman, I wonder how much he wanted to put both arms out & pretend he was being Superman for the scene, as it very much looked like the way you would expect the Man Of Steel to fly through the air, except with out 1 arm extended. In the scene, The Flash flies towards Mirror Mistress, before she bobs & weaves his lunge, and The Flash goes flying by her, not making impact with her, as she looks on with an unimpressed look. After the wrapped that scene, I moved over to the 1 other shoot I knew they had. UNFORTUNATELY, I did not know exactly where it was till I had put in considerable time trying to figure it out. it was on top of a parkade that has been used a few times for other shows in the past. With no good sight lines, I eventually gave up. But not before I came across the 1 & only set of cast trailers out there. The trailer was for Danielle Panabaker, as it has the Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost tag on the door. While I never saw her there, the fact it was the only active trailer at the set made it pretty clear she was going to be in that scene on the roof. What was she doing there? Guess we'll have to wait & see. UPDATE: October 26, 2020, 1:15 PM - Video of the scenes has been added at the bottom of this post. You may NOT make 3 posts of just 1 part. Please make note of this rare bonus permission. The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 601 yesterday in a quiet North Burnaby neighbourhood. The scene had Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Jesse L Martin as Joe West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, Danielle Nicolet as Cecille Horton, Victoria Park as Kamilla Hwang, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand *drum roll* Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon shooting a scene that takes place in a back yard. Judging by the attire of those there, it would seem they were shooting a hanging out in the backyard enjoying the day type of scene. The scene description on the film notice called it a "family bbq". Only thing I know of the scene is the attire most were wearing, and that at some point I heard the classic Flash air guns go off. Was Barry taking off to, or returning from, a situation, or did he just head off real quick to grab some steaks for the bbq? Barry, Joe & Iris were in full "summer time" attire mode, as Grant was wearing a Hawaiin shirt, Jesse had on a casual shirt, and Candice was wearing a floral orange/brown and white pattern summer dress. During 1 break, and after they wrapped, I had a chance to chat with a few of the cast. Some briefer than others. But mostly everyone seemed to be in a great mood. I asked Grant about his costume for this season, he confirmed there will be a chin strap/cowl for the army of haters out there for the season 5 suit. I asked him straight up if he was getting a new suit, he said "yeah, its mostly the same though..." then I asked specifically about the chinstrap/cowl situation, and he said there will be 1 this year. I then told him how it was many peoples largest complaint last year, and he turned around and in a really joking manner waved his arms and said "everyones so petty". Jesse told me that his back is all good. Also, Carlos was right about what he said to me at the end of last season when he said "and I'll see you", he sure did and waved at me to say hi as I was moving towards getting someone else. I felt bad that I didnt have a moment to at least say "good to see you back" to him. When I asked Danielle Panabaker if she had a chance to try out the new Killer Frost outfit yet, she just smirked and said "you'll just have to wait & see". Only notable cast that I did not see there, and they did not have a trailer there were Tom Cavanagh and Hartley Sawyer. The Flash returns to TV for the 6th season this October on The CW in the U.S. If you want to see my past behind the scene shots for The Flash go HERE If you want to see my autograph gallery for The Flash go HERE The Flash shot scenes for an upcoming episode in Gastown a few weeks ago. The first scene they shot was with newcomer Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick in a S.T.A.R. Labs van with Danielle Panabaker as Caitlyn Snow shooting a scene where the pair get pretty cozy. There was then a scene with a mysterious woman shooting a scene where she was staring towards the van. When I tweeted about this woman, I got several replies stating its Kimiyo Hoshi, aka - Doctor Light. Even other more in the know sources on all things comic book related suggested it was her as well. So for now, till I hear differently, that is who I am suggesting it is. The Flash season 2 is on now with episodes airing Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. THIS BLOG MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 118 OR 119. If you have not seen these episodes and want to avoid potential mild spoilers to them. DO NOT continue reading or viewing the photos.. . . last warning . . I ran into The Flash a couple times in mid February, as they shot scenes for episode 118 (and possibly 119) The 1st set I know were for 118 as Emily Kinney and Amanda Pays were on set that day. The shoot took place at a massive business park in South Burnaby that's used by most productions at some point. The shoot was all interiors, but I can tell you I saw Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Tom Cavanagh along with previously mentioned 2 guest stars there that night. Uunfortunately, the location left no chances to shoot any parts of the scenes. However, meeting the cast was plausible. I went out there that day & night to meet The Walking Dead star Emily Kinney. While I did meet everyone else that was there that night, Ms. Kinney was less than receptive to meeting fans at any time I was there. Allegedly she met fans earlier in the day, but, during the 11 hrs I spent there, she never did. Even as she wrapped, and KNEW the whole TWO of us that were there were still waiting, and that she had earlier denied when she said "I just got to go to set (a small lie... she went to set 20 mins later.. after going to hair & make up, then coming back to her trailer for a few mins), so its not like she didn't know why we were there.... she speed walked from her transport vehicle, into her trailer, they speed walked from her trailer to her awaiting shuttle vehicle. I rarely take it too personally if a celeb denies signing for me. I get it. But this particular instance, I took pretty personally. She COULD have said "no" one of the 3 or 4 times prior, or even as she was leaving for the night. Instead, just left the pair of us there hanging. Classless move by her. A simple "no" would have solved everything. This episode of The Flash comes up this week. Just two days after that I found the set for The Flash 2 times that day. First up was a shoot at Victory Square with Danielle Panabaker as Caitlyn Snow and Candice Patton as Iris West and a young girl. It was hard to make out what all was going on in the scene, but it appeared the little girl was speaking quite annoyed/angrily at Iris and Caitlyn who were in a car. Unfortunately, I got there near the end of their shoot, so I never saw a lot of the scene, just 3 or 4 takes. While I was there, I saw Grant Gustin show up for reasons I do not know (he never did any scenes there...and seemingly wasn't there very long). Shortly after, the crew moved to their second location, about a 20 minute walk away at a residential area in Strathcona. At the 2nd location there was not much to see besides the actors going in or coming out of the house they were shooting at. I've been to sets like this 100X, they are pretty bland, mundane interaction experiences that don't require a lot of "security". However, this particular small, irrelevant set had more security than most high profile big budget films do. I even asked the 1 main guard what the deal was, he responded that he was just as perplexed by it as we were. There was no spoilers to be seen as they were filming indoors, the wasn't even any "special guest stars" of note to hide. This really shouldn't have been a "high security" situation, and as I pointed out to the main guard, and he seconded my observation, MOST of the security they had brought in were utterly pointless & more in the way than anything they were "guarding". I got a few pics of Rick and Grant coming out of the house 1 take, then left.... which was for the best Just as I got to the porch of my house, which was only a 8-10 minute walk away, the skies opened up and a substantially intense downpour erupted for the next 1/2 hour or so. Had I been even 2 minutes longer, I would have got soaked to the bone... so I guess the extra security and interior shoot DID something positive for me, it inspired me to leave early. The scenes on that 2nd day I believe are for episode 19, but could be 18 just because of how close it was to the filming date of the scenes that I know were for 18. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
