The Flash was on location for the season 8 in an area I shot them just last season, the courtyard in front of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Last time they were here, it was for a 6 on 1 Godspeed vs Flash battle, that turned into a 6 vs 6 Godspeed battle. This time, no Godspeeds to be seen.... but there was a couple unexpected things.

The first scene of the night was a stunt scene, with the double for Danielle Panabaker, as Killer Frost doing a scene where she falls to the ground. Before I saw the stunt woman in her full wardrobe, I thought she had to be another character, because of the hairstyle. But then I saw her up in the air, wearing the full Frost wardrobe, and I was quite confused. In the scene, Frost falls to the ground, and I cant really say if she landed safely, or not.... but based off the next set of scenes they did that night, it seems this fall was not a good one.

After the stunt was over, the crew spent quite a while setting up for the next scene, with the stand ins re-enacting the scene that would come up.At the time I did not know who the characters in the scene were going to be, because the 1 double was laying down on the ground ( I was assuming it was Frost based off other facts I knew at the time), and the other was of an older man. While there is no specific requirements for what a stand in has to look like, they generally find someone with a sort of similar look/build. I decided to go walk over to where Danielles trailer was to see if there was any activity going on there to figure out if my hunch of the character on the ground was right, and sure enough moments later she came out to go to set. I chatted with her briefly there, and got her to sign an autograph before she went to set.... and thats when I noticed, HER hair was the same colour as the stunt doubles. Killer Frost has a new hairdo.

A bit more time passed, before theyw ere finally ready to do this scene, and I was even more shocked when I saw a man in a red costume with some gold on it, specifically on the boots there. Grant Gustin was on set as The Flash. First time I had seen him since Armageddon, and I wasnt expecting him there, because as I stated earlier, that double, the older man, is NOT the one he has used for the last couple seasons. But now I knew the scene to be Frost on the ground, and The Flash kneeling over top of her checking on her. Unfortunately, the angles for this scene were not great, and I did not get a lot of time to find a good angle, as they only did 2 or 3 takes of the scene, and were done. Grant honestly spent 3X more time hanging around talking with crew, and Danielle before & after the scenes, than actually shooting. That was it for Grants involvement that night.... and they were moving on to the final scene of the night.

By the time they set up the 3rd scene of the night, I was really hoping this one wouldnt be long, as I was really cold by then. The final scenes they were going to do for the night, consisted of Danielle (and for a very breif moment, her double) doing a scene with a currently unknown actor (if anyone knows FOR SURE who it is, let me know to credit them properly), in an all grey wardrobe. The whole time I saw him on set, he never took his mask off, so I cant say who it is. I do know, at 1 point in the scene he is wearing something on his chest that seems like a disc of some type, up near his heart. In the scene, Frost gets up off the ground, turns around, walks over to the guy, grabs this disc off his chest, and the grey mystery character does a long drawn out scene of hims seeming to be in pain, or dying from this action, aaaand that was it. When I finally decided to leave, they were still in the process of prepping to do 1 more scene, but it was with the same 2 actors, so I called it a night, and left as I knew there wasnt likely to be time for them to film the scene they were setting up with those 2 at that time, then set up an entirely new scene in teh time they had left to be there.

The Flash was on location for the season 8 cross over Armageddon. They were filming in the exact same spot I caught them a couple weeks ago. I dont know if these were part of the same episode, or, if they are for a different part of the cross over. One thing that is certain, some big things were happening on this set.

When I first showed up, they were doing blocking for the first scene with Grant Gustin as ???, and Arrow & Legends Of Tomorrow former big bad Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk.

After rehearsals, Grant stopped to take a photo with a fan, then told the rest of the crowd of 30 or so people he would be back to do more photos with later. Several fans waited around on that promise, only to eventually all leave without that encounter. When Grant returned, he was in a costume, but not the typical red speedster outfit. This time he was dressed in an all yellow outfit, outside of a red belt & boots. WHAT? That is right, Grant was dressed as the Reverse Flash. Makes me remember that time in Crisis On Earth X, when Eobard said to Barry, that he wonders what face he'll be wearing the next time they meet. The scene itself wasnt too much, as it just saw Reverse Flash & Damien talking in the middle of the street, before Reverse Flash zips away. They filmed for about 30-45 minutes, and that was it for Grant working that night. I only myself got to see 2 takes, because I just happened to leave at the wrong time & missed about 60% of the shoot. It is so rare that I pick the wrong time to leave, I honestly cant recall the last time I did that.

After that some stunt work was done with Killer Frost, Chill Blaine ( Danielle Panabaker & Jon Cor did some scenes later, but first was stunts)
& Damien Darhk doing a fight. With Team Cold battling Damien.

A little later was a scene with Danielle & Jon doing a quick piece of dialogue, then walking towards where Damien was.

The night ended with another spoiler Osric Chau as Ryan Choi, on set in his version of the ATOM suit. He did a scene with Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers in her Sentinel outfit, doing a scene where they stop Damien Darhl from doing something with a jagged looking sword type item. Ryan does something to its weight, making it impossible for Damiek to pick up & Alex knocks him out with something that seemed like a tazer maybe, before the two heroes walk away together.

This was not the best shots I have ever taken. So I didnt spend a lot of time editing these ones. Especially since Froggy has better ones below that I was being allowed to post.

After that, the cast was wrapped for the night, and so was I. They did some stunt work till 7 AM, but I called it a night at 5 AM. At the end of a very long night (especially considering she was called in almost 4 hours earlier than she had to be in the end) Chyler came over and signed for the couple people that still were there at 5AM without any complaints.

Below my set is an EXTRA photo set from a guest photographer (twitter profile), Frog Photo. If you decide to re-post their content, I advise you read the paragraph before their photos at the bottom.

The Flash season 8 will begin November 16 with their 5 event semi-crossover event on The CW in the U.S. Or on their app the next day.

There will be some video from scenes from this cross over to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop. The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday in 2 different spots around downtown Vancouver. They were filming scenes for episode 707, with Alexandra La Roche directing. (director of Goldfaced episode, as well as 5 other episodes of The Flash, plus 7 other Arrowverse episodes over the years on Legends Of Tomorrow and Arrow).

The first location was in a lot attached to B.C. Place, which many know as the place for exterior shots of S.T.A.R. Labs. This is a location they have used at least once before as shown in this previous set HERE .... but not since season 1. Again, like back then, they used it as a parking lot at the CCPD.

This time, the location had several Police cars, and 1 Meta Human Task Force vehicle there. The scene had Jesse L Martin as Joe West, shooting a scene with Carmen Moore. In the scene, we see Joe speed walking after this woman, who is named Kristin Kramer, through the lot. According to the synopsis for episode 7x05, Kristin is "a member of the "Governor's Municipal Logistics Commission" (whatever thats supposed to be) As she gets to her car, he confronts her, and the pair have a serious, but not seemingly hostile, talk. It seemed like Joe was trying to reason with her for some reason. But what could that be?

They did shoot another scene after that at the side of that Meta Human truck, but there was no reasonable angle to see what was going on. What I can say is, immediately before they started shooting that scene, Danielle Panabaker showed up in Killer Frost attire. I can not say if she was in this scene, but her timing compared to when they started filming would suggest she could have been. As well, based off the second set below, I think its probable she was in the scene..... just what was the premise of the scene is completely unknown though.

The second location was in a parking lot across the street from B.C. Place, in a place that really is only used for parking now, but used to be a popular sports bar back in the day. I actually passed that location first on my way to the earlier location, so I stopped and took a couple close up shot of the doors & posters while the chance was there.

A few hours later, the crew moved to this location. Many of the Police vehichles from the first location were moved over to this location. Including that Meta Human task force vehicle.

In this night scene, they had made the empty building look like a pub, even decorated with fake signage out on the street promoting the now recurring made up band Sickada (seen on this season 7 set on a poster)  at O'Shaughnessy's Pub.

Outside the pub, the CCPD had set up to take down someone.... but who??. Well, much to my shock, KILLER FROST! The woman from the earlier scene, Kristen Kramer, was now at this location yelling orders at Frost to come out with her hands up. She tells her she has 2 minutes to come out, then 1 minute, then says time is up, and tells the squad of Meta Human Task Force members to move in, before seeing Frost move towards the front door with her hands up. She then tells the task force members to stand down, as Frost comes out, and agrees to being handcuffed. So you can start your speculations on WHY is a group that you would think Captain West would have some control over, is pursuing Frost now. How did she go from helping Team Flash in episode 3 of this season (HERE) to being hunted by the CCPD? Is this what the earlier interaction at the other set was over?

On my walk back over there before the scene started, I got there moments before Danielle got to the set. She was wearing a face shield, instead of a mask. I have seen both versions being used by different crews, but she was the 1st cast member I had seen on The Flash using this method. I got to speak to her momentarily & congratulate her on her new child. She was, as always, pleasant & thanked me.

It was quite cold this night, and there was only about an hour left in filming at that location when I decided that I needed to call it a night. Perhaps more was filmed after, but considering how little time was left on their time there, it seems unlikely much else came of the scene.

I will have some video of these scenes later on this month. You can this when its up, as well as my other past videos on my Youtube channel.

The Flash season 7 will air Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. starting February 23, 2021.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting at B.C. Place Stadium (better know as the exterior for S.T.A.R. Labs) on Thursday & Friday nights. This is part 2 of this 2 night set. You can find my 1st part blog HERE.

On this second night. A lot happened, so I split it into 2 posts.

This portion of the blog will focus on the later scenes. Which adds more context into the first part sets cliff hanger. As well, as show another scene that was shot late at night with some additions to the scene.

The early part of the night was committed to continuing on from the other nights scene which seemed to mostly consist of a battle between Grant Gustin as The Flash and Efrat Dor as Eva McCulloch / Mirror Master / Mirror Mistress. As I stated in the other blog, Candice Patton joined this scene on the 2nd night to do a scene where she can be seen holding hands with Eva, and even consoling her. As I also said in that post, you can just barely see The Flash reaching out towards Eva, but what was his plan?

Well, his plan was.... to join her. To hold hands with her. The trio stood on the steps together looking out at something. What were they looking at? What had these former foes seemingly teaming up? It appears a plethora of Mirror Mistress clones. As there was somewhere in the range of 6 to 8 actresses running around dressed like Eva shooting their arm cannons at a variety of background who were running around in a panic. In the background, a car was burning while this all went on.

Does the new trio team win this battle? It seems so. While we never see them fight them in any way other than to hold hands and stare towards them, eventually they act like they won, and it is over.
There was also a scene shot that I did not have photos of, but I do have a video clip that I will post in the next week or so, where you see a couple of these Mirror Mistress clones with their arm cannons pointed at The Flash, who is kneeling on the ground between the pair. Eventually they leave as Eva takes over. That scene SEEMS to be immediately before Iris comes over to Eva. But I can not 100% confirm the airing order of those scenes.
The late night scene, that happened after their midnight lunch break saw the same trio there, now joined by 2 additional characters. Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon (or is he.... VIBE??) and Danielle Panabaker in her 1st public shoot since becoming a new mom in real life, as Killer Frost join the trio on the stair case. Cisco pulls off his Vibe looking glasses as the group looks out towards the scene unfolding in front of them. The way they were lined up looks like any photo from a promo shot of a cast I have ever seen. Is Eva joining Team Flash as a regular? Or is this her farewell redemption arc, like Marlize Devoe a couple seasons ago?

Through out the 2 nights, they frequently would shoot their big reaction full view scenes on the staircase facing the street. But for the more close up takes, would move back into the plaza more, and film them while they were standing sideways from the street, probably due to the fact it would be unsafe for them to set up so close to the stairs to do these shots, thus why a few shots it seems like I am "behind/to the side" of them for what seems like the same scene.

There will be plenty of video from these 2 nights to post in the next week or so, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash season 7 will air Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. starting February 23, 2021.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting at the Vancouver Concention Centre in downtown Vancouver for a couple days. Along with a shoot on top of a parkade 3 blocks away later on the 2nd day.

While there was not much to see on the 1st day (I found the set, but between the rain soaked glass, and the position of props & crew, it was impossible to tell what was being shot), I did get a shot of a few crates with Black Hole logos on them. As well as some type of beam type machine, which I dont yet know what it is for.

On the 2nd day, there was a lot more to see however.
In the morning, a scene was shot right outside the convention centre with Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, along with Victoria Park as Kamilla Hwang. If you werent paying really close attention while there you might have missed that this was in the mirrorverse, as the garbage bins, and dog walking signs there were printed in reverse.... even down to the spray cans Kamilla uses to spray paint (in the proper direction) a message to Iris had the labels on in reverse.

The scene had Kamilla finishing up her message to Iris, when Iris shows up at that spot, sees her, and walks over to her gives her a hug, and the pair talk for about a minute, before walking off together. Where the pair were heading after this is unknown, as the scene ends about 20 steps later.

This scene is for episode 7X02, as you may be able to see by the clapperboard. It is directed by Alexandra LaRoche, who has directed 5 other The Flash episodes in the past, as well as 8 other Arrowverse episodes from Legends Of Tomorrow, Arrow & Supergirl.

As with all the other sets I have been to so far, the covid-19 guidelines in place by our government seemed to be getting met, as all the crew were masked up, equipment and crew stations were well spread out, and in between takes the cast were also wearing their masks.

If you want to see more photos (without some watermarks) from this set, you can find them on Just Jared HERE, as a photographer I know came down to shoot the set after I let him know they were there.
After that scene wrapped, the production moved back inside the convention centre to resume filming interior scenes. Thankfully, this taxpayer built, city block long, building comes with a LOT of glass on it. Making it easy to see whats going on inside.... long as you know where to look. In this particular case, on a level generally used for large convention hall events.

I do not know if this scene is for episode 2, or 1, as I did not think till well after the fact to check and find out. It wasnt till I got home & saw a photo I had taken which made me suspicious that they were shooting parts of 2 episodes on the same day (this is NOT that rare of an occurrence, probably happens a dozen or so times a season). Without going into painstaking detail how I got the info, and what that info was, lets just say, what I saw made me think there were scenes for 2 episodes being shot on this day.

On set for this scene was Grant Gustin as The Flash, Efrat Dor as Mirror Mistress, and their stunt doubles. The first scene I saw shot there was pretty simple. It had The Flash standing about 100 feet away from Mirror Mistress, and he simply goes running at her.

After they shot that scene, I left for a while as I wanted to get some other work done, and it looked like they were going to keep re-doing that scene. I came back about an hour & 1/2 later and things had changed slightly, now they had Grants double up on a rolling cart. He was prepping a scene that Grant himself would do a bit later, where he goes charging towards Mirror Mistress in a horisontal fashio, with his arm shoved forward. Considering Grants love of Superman, I wonder how much he wanted to put both arms out & pretend he was being Superman for the scene, as it very much looked like the way you would expect the Man Of Steel to fly through the air, except with out 1 arm extended.

In the scene, The Flash flies towards Mirror Mistress, before she bobs & weaves his lunge, and The Flash goes flying by her, not making impact with her, as she looks on with an unimpressed look.

After the wrapped that scene, I moved over to the 1 other shoot I knew they had. UNFORTUNATELY, I did not know exactly where it was till I had put in considerable time trying to figure it out. it was on top of a parkade that has been used a few times for other shows in the past. With no good sight lines, I eventually gave up. But not before I came across the 1 & only set of cast trailers out there. The trailer was for Danielle Panabaker, as it has the Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost tag on the door. While I never saw her there, the fact it was the only active trailer at the set made it pretty clear she was going to be in that scene on the roof. What was she doing there? Guess we'll have to wait & see.

UPDATE: October 26, 2020, 1:15 PM - Video of the scenes has been added at the bottom of this post.

The Flash season 7 will air Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. starting January 2021.

The Flash was on location for the 7th episode of the season on Thursday in downtown Vancouver. The episode is being directed by Chad Lowe.

This location was literally the laneway over from where they shot last week. This dtime though, it was a night time scene. Also, the cast was a bit different for this shoot. Hartley Sawyer as Elongated Man, Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Ramsey Rosso, or maybe even Bloodwork as you will see below.

When the cast showed up, fans wished Danielle Panabaker a Happy Birthday which brought a huge smile out across her face. Sendhil tried VERY HARD to keep his make up job hidden, but dumb luck was on my side, and I just happened to not be where everyone else was when and had a partial view of his face. As you can see in the photos below, he looked far different than he did in the daytime photos on this previous set last week.

The first scene had Elongated Man and Ramsey/Bloodwork in a major fight battle. Both characters at different points seemed to have the upper hand. But eventually, Ramsey/Bloodwork gets the permanent upper hand with some action that seemed like he was doing a hand motion suggesting he was controlling Elongated Man in some way, before EM falls to the ground.... then Bloodwork is "knocked away".

A bit later, Killer Frost finally came in to replace Bloodwork on set for a scene. The scene has Killer Frost rush up to Elongated Man as he laid on the ground after his big fight, looking to be in serious peril, and the reaction of Killer Frosts body language SEEMED like she was suggesting he wasn't doing well, and maybe even didnt survive. Would The Flash actually write out a major character just before Crisis??? Seems pretty unlikely.

The last scene of the evening had Elongated Man & Bloodwork competing again.... but I didnt take any photos of it. When the evening ended, Danielle came out, at 2 AM, after a day on set in a pretty cold night compared to what we have had lately, and, after having to work on her Birthday, carrying 2 containers of flowers from the cast, and walkking Eliot, and stopped to meet with all the fans. I dont usually point out things like this too much, but it really impressed me the effort she takes to keep fans for the show. Not to be outdone, Hartley stopped on two different occasions through out the evening for lengthy meet & greets. Right now, I would call these two the best ambassadors the show has. No disrespect to Grant or Tom, but these two go above & beyond.

AGAIN, REMINDER - Please adhere to the photo limits in the blog post posted linked in the red text paragraph above. I can not stress enough that I am not going to allow the laziness of not reading it to be an excuse.

The Flash returns to TV for the 6th season this October on The CW in the U.S.

UPDATE: (July 11, 2019 at 9:30 AM) Video added at the bottom of some scenes.
The Flash was again on location for this first episode of the season. After my post about filming in the first week HERE. I did not expect to catch up to them again so soon.
This time there were shooting scenes for episode 601 yesterday in a part of downtown Vancouver known as Coal Harbour... I posted a short blog on 1 portion of it several hours ago, for the Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost new costume reveal HERE.

But that was not all that happened that day.

The day started out with the crew and stunt team for The Flash doing work on a scene where a man is seemingly blown away, then, pulled back through the air. A bit later, they also did a stunt where they made a car move across a street upside down while people were running.

In between the stunt scenes, they had 1 short scene in the morning where Hartley Sawyer as Elongated Man did a scene with a man dressed like the stunt guy from earlier where he grabs him, spins him around, before the guy gets a scared look on his face, and runs away, while Hartley runs in the opposite direction.

Before they went to their lunch break they did 1 more scene with just 100s of extras running away from something.

After their lunch break, more filming went on in this location.

Jesse L. Martin was the first cast member to show up after the break, and he had his newly minted Captain Joe West look going as he first did a scene where he just looked on at something as people ran around in a panic. Then shortly after he did a scene with Danielle. I was confused by the scene, as Danielle was in her KF attire, but the way the scene looked, it almost looked like she was trying to attack Joe. But I'm assuming I just missed something that maybe was going on behind him.

A bit later, Jesse wrapped that location. They then had Danielle & Hartley shooting a scene together where the pair seem to be facing some daunting task, and somehow overcome it, which leads to a moment only Ralph Dibny and Caitlin Snow could engage in really as Elongated Man hughs Killer Frost for a moment before stopping and awkwardly making a motion like "sorry I didnt mean to do that", before having the moment reciprocated with Killer Frost giving Elongated Man a hug back.
