The Flash 100th episode celebration party - With most of the cast - and lots of Arrowverse friends.11/18/2018 So, while little is known yet about the 100th episode of The Flash besides the press release for it. The show did celebrate its 100th episode on Saturday night with a party at 1 of Vancouver's best known venues, the Commodore Ballroom. It actually was a busy weekend for the Commodore hosting milestone events for The CW, as Supernatural had their party the night before for their 300th episode. The event was a celebration of their accomplishment, along with a chance to give press people a few tidbits of info for the event. The Flash cast in attendance included Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Hartley Sawyer, Danielle Nicolet, Patrick Sabongui, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Chris Klein. Of course Jesse L Martin was noticeably missing, as he still is recuperating from surgery on a back issue. But the cast of The Flash was not all that showed up, as all 4 Arrowverse shows were represented quite heavily at the party. Arrow had Stephen Amell, Cassandra Amell, David Ramsey, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez and Kirk Acevedo there. Legends Of Tomorrow brought Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford, Jes Macallan, Tala Ashe, Adam Tsekhman and Ramona Young. Supergirl was represented by Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, Nicole Maines, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Jesse Rath, and former cast member Chris Wood . A handful of former guest stars were there, along with Elseworlds newcomer LaMonica Garrett. Probably my favorite parts of the evening was a couple things. First, the rent-a-goon "security" team they hired who clearly had never done a celebrity event in their life, and were over reacting to every single person coming in like they thought they were protecting President Obama or something..... and still failed at doing so. Not once, but on 3 different occasions early in the evening, they decided to get confrontational with me about being on a public sidewalk. As I told the first group "its going to be a long night for you" which they tried then telling me no one was going to sign autographs. They lost their will to live pretty quickly, and by the time the celebs were leaving, they weren't even bothering to acknowledge some of them with a half hearted "human chain" that they so intensely created for everyone on the way in, just adding to the annoyance of the celebs who did want to sign when they had to reach over outstretched arms holding hands with another outstretched arm. They were so poorly informed on how to act, and who they were there to "protect" that they were creating human chains for random crew members, and failing to do so when actual actors from the show were leaving. Candice Patton had no one but the people she left with protecting her. Same for Carlos Valdes. No moment more encapsulated the evening of incompetence than when they "protected" Hayes Robbins, the husband of The Flash star Danielle Panabaker, but not Danielle herself. All in all, not the best team. I wouldnt hire them to protect a pie from a child. For the record, the "no autographs" I was promised, was Juuuuuuuust a tad short of accurate. I got every single cast member of The Flash except for Jessica Parker Kennedy, Danielle Nicolet and Chris Klein. The last two, who I did not even have something for. I also got 6 of the other Arrowverse cast. In fact, not one single person that signed that I needed, did they end up stopping me from getting. Usually when a staff tells me I'm not getting anything, they at least succeed on preventing me from getting SOMEONE at some point. I cant recall a team ever failing at every single venture. It was quite something to behold. Second, was the variety of crew, and also 1 actor, who joked that I should be inside, because as 1 of them put it "I think you have spent more time on the set than some of us". I have done several cast parties over the years, and for the most part, crew are always very welcoming to me at these events. It really repeats the point I try to make to people all the time when they think the crews hate us. While I am sure there are some, from every show (because when you have a group of 200+ people working on something.... not everyone is going to be happy about the same things), the vast majority dont have a problem with us, and understand we all have a job to do. As for who hung with who? Obviously the interior of the party was a mystery to me. But as they arrived & left, MOST cast arrived & left on their own. But there were a couple exceptions. Much of The Flash cast were in early, as they had press to do inside before the party. I know that for cast Grant, Hartley, Carlos and Danielle were the last to leave, all leaving around 11:45-11:55ish. While Candice was the first to leave much earlier, and Jessica a little while after. The Arrow cast were some of the latest to arrive, with Stephen, being the first of the cast, and not till after 8. Rick and David arrived together, with Kirk very shortly after them, and Juliana shortly after him. The Legends Of Tomorrow cast was a bit of a mystery to me. They seemed pretty scattered on when they arrived, and left. The only thing I do recall from their cast was Ramona Young was the last one to arrive. For Supergirl, Melissa was the first to leave from any of the shows, even before some people had even got there. While Katie & Nicole seemed to leave with their guests together. The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. It shows the next day on Netflix in Canada and other countries. The 100th episode will air live on December 4, 2018. As October got under way, so did the annual DC TV universe crossover event that they have done for the past few seasons. This year, only 3 of their 4 shows are taking part, with Legends Of Tomorrow taking a pass on this one. Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up for the event. On this particular day, they filmed several scenes in downtown Vancouver for"The Flash". During this video, we see the cast between takes, as Melissa Benoist is standing around, she hears something funny. Grant Gustin dressed as the Green Arrow is busy getting input from the director on what he wants from Grant in the scene. While Stephen Amell makes a very short cameo on the far right side of the screen later on in the video. Apologies for the occasional interruptions from traffic, and the blurriness at times as the camera tried to re-focus. They were shooting this on West Georgia Street, which is a major thoroughfare thru the downtown core & we were unlawfully denied the right to stand on the same side of the street they were filming on, so I had to shoot this from across a 6 lane street. You will have to watch it by Unofficial means, because the morons at The CW have given Netflix the rights to air The Flash the next day (it literally does NOT air live ANYWHERE in Canada), while giving Arrow to the Space network, and giving Supergirl to the Showcase network. The former network that carried them, CTV, now has none of them for some reason. So uhhh, I guess good luck with watching it. Surprisingly, there was not much overlap from the day before shoots. Which is rare for a 2 day shoot. Most times, half of what they shoot on day 2 is the same as day 1, just at different angles. But there was very little of the same. - (will fill in scene details later when time permits) Grant Gustin was dressed as the Green Arrow, Stephen Amell was dressed as The Flash, Melissa Benoist was there as Supergirl, and Tyler Hoechlin was there..... dressed in his traditional red & blue Superman attire, which after the spoiler photo Stephen posted earlier this week, was a mild surprise to me. The day included a bike stunt, as well as a superhero team up scene where Flash. Daniel Cudmore.was playing Amazo. More photos might be added later this weekend... and perhaps some video. On this particular day, they filmed several scenes in downtown Vancouver for"The Flash". I didnt see every scene shot, because some of them were happening while I was checking on other things at set. But heres a list of what I do recall. - Green Arrow bike riding stunt. Ends with GA being thrown thru the air. - Green Arrow (Grant Gustin) does a scene where he is on a built up table that he had to use a ladder to get onto. He starts laying down on it, then pops up into the sitting position before making a move that I think might have been drawing his bow. - The Flash (Stephen Amell) does a scene where he seemingly just darts away. I didnt have the best angle for it. I also saw Daniel Cudmore there on stilts at that time.... but I dont believe he was filming in that specific scene, or if he was, it was completely out of my view. - Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) shoots a scene where she lands down on the ground, then gets up and stares (probably heat vision?) at something taller than her, I BELIEVE Daniels character, as I saw him around there at that time. - Green Arrow on roof. First with stunt man, then later briefly with Grant. Scene sees GA shooting his bow at something or someone. - The Flash, Superman and Supergirl team up to fight Daniels character. Hes now down at their level, and the two Supes are holding an arm each while Flash is holding him from behind. They did this with the stunts team first, then Stephen and Tyler Hoechlin did the scene with Supergirls stunt double. - Somewhere in the mix was a scene with The Flash running out of the way as Green Arrow was riding in on his motorcycle. But I was busy with something else when that scene took place. Grant Gustin was dressed as the Green Arrow, Stephen Amell was dressed as The Flash, Melissa Benoist was there as Supergirl, and Tyler Hoechlin was there..... dressed in his traditional red & blue Superman attire, which after the spoiler photo Stephen posted earlier this week, was a mild surprise to me. Also in the photo set, Jensen Ackles from the TV show "Supernatural" who came by to visit with Stephen, and watched a bit of Grant shooting a scene up on a roof top. The day included a bike stunt, as well as a superhero team up scene where Flash, Supergirl & Superman try to defeat an Amazo played by Daniel Cudmore.
