I actually started on Monday with this set, as it was posted by someone there was a film set at the Vancouver Art Gallery, which is just a few minutes walk from my house. When I got there, I quickly realized it was just set up for the next day. I saw some clear signs immediately it was going to be for The Flash, and sure enough when I got to the courtyard they filmed in, saw two KORD Industries items in there. Of course, I was going to have to wait till the next day to find out what it all meant. Director for this episode is Vanessa Parise (director of 8x14 "Funeral For A Friend"). On set for these scenes were Grant Gustin as The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, as well as new addition to the cast, former Continuum, & The 100 actor Richard Harmon, as the Owen Mercer version of Captain Boomerang. When I first got there, the scenes had The Flash standing up on a platform, raised up above the people on the ground. Beside him was a big object, that I later learned was called the "Roemer Accelerator". KORD Industry vehicles can be seen around the set, it appears the device was being transported somewhere, and somehow was prevented from continuing on. The Flash walks over to the device, puts his hands on it, as if to try and stabilize it, eventually seeming to succeed. He then looks down at the ground, where Iris is staring up at him. He then gets off the platform, walks over to her, gives her a hug, and the pair look up at the object. After that, a new person was put up on the raised platform. This time it was Richard as Captain Boomerang. He was standing near the accelerator, at times touching it, but also focusing on The Flash, who was down below with Iris. Captain Boomerangs reason for wanting this device, seems to have something to do with its battery, as he can be seen taking it out of the machine at one point (or putting it in... but I think hes removing it). Last scene before their lunch break had Barry & Iris again on set, seemingly moving towards Captain Boomerang, as Iris was carrying a large gun that has been used on the show in the past (I dont remember if it has a specific name, but I am sure you all do). In 1 take, I noticed Barry put his hand up to his hear like he was getting a message from someone back at S.T.A.R. Labs, but I never noticed it in other takes. So not sure if I just never noticed it before, or if it was an improved take. After the lunch break, it was back to work for Richard & Grant, as Candice left for the day. The scenes continued to have 1 or the other up on the platform. But then at 1 point I noticed in 1 take Boomerang takes out a boomerang and throws it towards Barry. So I went found a different spot, and was able to get a set of photos from the front end of Boomerang throwing them, before the area was cleared out. The pair continued to do parts of this scene for the rest of the day, before the crew & cast wrapped for the day. The last photo in the set is NOT part of the set. It was taped onto the side of 1 of their work carts, and I thought it was interesting. There will be some video from scenes from this episode to post in the next few weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop. THIS BLOG POST IS FOR A "THE FLASH" SEASON 7 (either episode 3, or 4. I believe its 3, but I can not confirm it), AND MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON. If you have not seen the episode, and do not want to see or read possible spoilers about it prior to seeing it, do not continue reading the article or viewing the photos below. . . . last warning . . PLEASE NOTE - Photo limits are in place for website use/social media posts. PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF FAMILIAR WITH THE NEW GUIDELINES POSTED HERE. I will not be responsible for your ignorance. If I file a takedown notice on you, it really is on you for not educating yourself. If you are confused on how many you can post, ASK FIRST, and I will let you know. The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting at B.C. Place Stadium (better know as the exterior for S.T.A.R. Labs) on Thursday & Friday nights. This is part 2 of this 2 night set. You can find my 1st part blog HERE. On this second night. A lot happened, so I split it into 2 posts. This portion of the blog will focus on the later scenes. Which adds more context into the first part sets cliff hanger. As well, as show another scene that was shot late at night with some additions to the scene. The early part of the night was committed to continuing on from the other nights scene which seemed to mostly consist of a battle between Grant Gustin as The Flash and Efrat Dor as Eva McCulloch / Mirror Master / Mirror Mistress. As I stated in the other blog, Candice Patton joined this scene on the 2nd night to do a scene where she can be seen holding hands with Eva, and even consoling her. As I also said in that post, you can just barely see The Flash reaching out towards Eva, but what was his plan? Well, his plan was.... to join her. To hold hands with her. The trio stood on the steps together looking out at something. What were they looking at? What had these former foes seemingly teaming up? It appears a plethora of Mirror Mistress clones. As there was somewhere in the range of 6 to 8 actresses running around dressed like Eva shooting their arm cannons at a variety of background who were running around in a panic. In the background, a car was burning while this all went on. Does the new trio team win this battle? It seems so. While we never see them fight them in any way other than to hold hands and stare towards them, eventually they act like they won, and it is over. There was also a scene shot that I did not have photos of, but I do have a video clip that I will post in the next week or so, where you see a couple of these Mirror Mistress clones with their arm cannons pointed at The Flash, who is kneeling on the ground between the pair. Eventually they leave as Eva takes over. That scene SEEMS to be immediately before Iris comes over to Eva. But I can not 100% confirm the airing order of those scenes. The late night scene, that happened after their midnight lunch break saw the same trio there, now joined by 2 additional characters. Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon (or is he.... VIBE??) and Danielle Panabaker in her 1st public shoot since becoming a new mom in real life, as Killer Frost join the trio on the stair case. Cisco pulls off his Vibe looking glasses as the group looks out towards the scene unfolding in front of them. The way they were lined up looks like any photo from a promo shot of a cast I have ever seen. Is Eva joining Team Flash as a regular? Or is this her farewell redemption arc, like Marlize Devoe a couple seasons ago?
Through out the 2 nights, they frequently would shoot their big reaction full view scenes on the staircase facing the street. But for the more close up takes, would move back into the plaza more, and film them while they were standing sideways from the street, probably due to the fact it would be unsafe for them to set up so close to the stairs to do these shots, thus why a few shots it seems like I am "behind/to the side" of them for what seems like the same scene. There will be plenty of video from these 2 nights to post in the next week or so, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop. The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 522 earlier this month in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Vancouver. It was a very short shoot, so short in fact, it wrapped almost 2 hours short of when it was supposed to, which by filming standards is VERY quick. Grant Gustin and Candice Patton were on set for the scene when I got there. The scene seemed to be set in the future by some of the future cars I saw there when I first got there that were taken away shortly after. Not sure who else might have been in the scene before I got there (I got there about 20 mins before they wrapped the scene), but I DID see Jessica Parker Kennedy drive by me at 1 point in 1 of the productions transportation vehicles. But I never saw her actually film. You can find photos from the finale shoots HERE and HERE The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. With the crossover episode firmly in the crews rear view mirror, the production can move forward with the rest of their season. The Flash were working on episode 409 in downtown Vancouver last night with a large crowd of onlookers peering from across the street of their production. In an opening scene, they had the shows star Grant Gustin on set doing a scene as Barry Allen with Candice Patton playing Iris West (or is it Iris West Allen now?) his recently married wife. The pair seemed to be walking along in Central City doing some Christmas shopping before Barry is mysteriously yanked away into an alley. A bit later, the production team moved out a prop chair into the top of the alley. Instantly fans of the show assumed it was the chair for The Thinker. Sure enough, they were right. Neil Sandilands aka Clifford Devoe aka The Thinker took his place in his high tech throne and hovered over the alleway that Barry was yanked in to for a short scene that took longer for them to get him in and out of the chair than it did to shoot it seemed. A bit later they moved further into the alley, and out of prying eyes. But it was the publics first chance to see The Thinker in person. While we have seen him on screen now in both of the seasons episodes, what we had not seen till now was him roaming around Central City. Now that we know he can & will.... expect to see a lot more from him down the road I suspect. Today was the day that the worst kept secret in the Arrowverse happened. Of course, depending how you feel about particular ships in the Arrowverse, this was joyous, or the death of the franchise in your mind. A duo wedding took place today. Yes, a DUO WEDDING. With the crossover episodes almost done filming, the cast of The Flash and Arrow found themselves shooting a scene on LOT today with no LOT cast in the scenes. The scene consisted of Arrow cast members Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak and David Ramsey as John Diggle, along with The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and Candice Patton as Iris West shooting a scene in downtown Stanley Park for the much hyped double wedding between the commonly shipped duos West Allen & Olicity. While Barry & Iris looked dressed for the occasion, it was pretty clear the Arrow characters wedding plans were pretty spur of the moment, as they were both dressed in casual clothes. The ceremonies were officiated by Arrow character John Diggle. For reasons that I am sure the storylines will eventually explain, neither of the couples friends or family were in attendance. The couples instead, acted as each others witnesses. The scene starts with Diggle appearing, clearly after Barry speeds him there. Diggle freaks out, then goes and vomits, before coming back to the two couples, and after a brief talk, starts the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, the two couples kiss, then the scene ends. While many fans on both sides are outraged that their couple had to share their moment with the other, many others were just as overjoyed to know their couple of choice at least finally were married. Earlier in the day scenes were shot with Barry, Iris, Oliver & Felicity, along with characters from Legends Of Tomorrow and Supergirl. I will have a blog on that shoot at a later date.... but for now.... enjoy shippers. The Flash filmed a scene for season 3 in Yaletown on August 3rd with Grant Gustin and Candice Patton. The scene was pretty simple. Grant, as Barry Allen was making every effort to woo Candice, as Iris West, his adoptive sister lets not forget, to date him. Seemingly the scene sees Barry waiting for Iris to come out for a date. With him, he has two massive floral displays, one in the shape of a heart, the other spelling out his adoptive sisters name. During the rehearsals after 1 take, Grant laughingly said "I guess now we're going out now". Which got a mixture of laughs and groans from the crowd watching the filming. But during the actual filming, both him and Candice put on their game faces and worked their way thru the awkward pseudo incestual moment that the writers insist isn't supposed to be weird. During breaks as the crew worked to set up different angles to film it from, Grant would hang out with fans at one point, and chat with crew on other breaks. While Candice sped back to the cast tent and away from the public as usual. There were scenes shot earlier that day in the same area that featured guest star Joey King, but I missed them by mere minutes as showed up just as Ms. king left. The Flash, season 3 debuts TONIGHT October 4, 2016 on The CW in the U.S. and on CTV in Canada. You can check out my other blog posts about The Flash filming in the past here. Those who are familiar with my blog or my twitter account are more than aware I generally have a disliking for 1 of the people in this set and try as much as I can to not post photos of them on this blog.... but, a couple fortunate moments fell in place for those looking for more pics of her. 1- I wanted a blog to post the day that The Flash season 3 arrived and 2- The only two sets I had of The Flash since my big season premiere spoiler blog post had said actress in it..... so here I find myself. So, enjoy. THIS POST MAY CONTAIN NOTABLE SPOILERS FOR AN EPISODE OF "THE FLASH" EITHER 116 OR 115. If you do not want to read or view possible spoilers from the episode before seeing it, do not continue reading or viewing the photos.
. . . last warning . . I ran into the hit rookie superhero show for The CW, The Flash, in downtown Vancouver a few weeks ago filming a scene for an episode (I think its 116, could be 115 though) It did not seem to have much to it from where I was watching early on. Grant Gustin as The Flash comes running down the street & comes to a skidding stop. An interesting observation on the night was how often Grant came over to meet fans & regulars alike. I counted personally 4 different times. In a day & age where celebs coming over more than once to see fans is at best abnormal, and 3 times, rare, seeing someone come over at least 4 times is in my experiences unheard of. Kudos to him. I have found him to be very hit & miss on when he comes & meets fans, but when he does he really does give a 110%. I left the set for a little while. When I returned later, I got back in time to watch the scene from the other side when they re-set the cameras and I was able to hear a bit of the going on for the scene. The Flash was looking for Cisco. Someone off camera yells at him (I only saw 1 take of it, so I wasn't prepared for it, so I didn't catch if it was Caitlyn or Iris) and the assumption would be Caitlyn, but his reaction to the inquiry of "Barry, is that you?" makes me think it could be Iris. Especially after the spoilery pics that came out earlier that day of a scene shot with Candice Patton and Grant, which I was lucky enough to see afterwards when they were re-playing it on the set randomly. I've added 1 pic of that below.... sorry its smaller than the others, I wasn't expecting what I saw & didn't have my zoom set properly. After the main cast wrapped, they did a scene with a girl with colourful hair standing on a corner looking around for something. I didn't recognize her. Never found out who it was, but they did scenes of her by herself on the corner. Obviously, there is always context to every scene that some still photos don't show. But is it possible Iris has found out Barrys secret? Also, where is Cisco? The Flash will return Tuesday March 17th after a 3 week break in the U.S. on The CW or in Canada on CTV.
