The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 518 this morning/afternoon in downtown Vancouver at the Vancouver Public Library, before moving inside the CBC building across the street. The title of the episode is one that will have hardcore Flash fans screaming in excitement, or nervous fear. With The Flash keeping the directing of this episode in house, by having 1st time director, and main actor on the show, Danielle Panabaker doing the work, it is no shock the title, and subject matter has been hush hush so far. Luckily for me, my always attentive eye caught the binder of a crew member with the title for the episode showing. The early day scene had a group of cops chasing "someone", while a stunt double that was filling in for Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora gets thrown thru the air onto a car. After the stunts were done, Jessica came in for a VERY SHORT shoot (I am not entirely sure that she did more than 1 take of it to be honest.). She was dressed in casual clothes in all black, and seemed unfazed by the toss her character had just endured. After that scene ended, the crew and cast moved to a secure underground parking lot across the street in the CBC building to shoot more stuff. I managed to catch up to Danielle Panabaker before she headed over there, and even with her hands full of binders and a water bottle, not to mention her tight schedule as director, and me even telling her "nah, its okay, you got your hands full" she still insisted on stopping to sign my item that I had out. Going to be hard for future actors to tell me "I cant, I'm in a rush" after encountering that. The only Godspeed scenes shot on Thursday were either indoors, or really late with stunts. The indoor scene was to take place at "Stagg Industries Storage Facility" and has Godspeed catch Nora and Lia Nelson. Godspeed then kills Lia. After that scene, they went back outside and did that scene with Grant & Jessica. After that scene wrapped, they were scheduled to do a scene where "Godspeed chases Nora up the building... to the roof". The building he is chasing her up, the "CC Citizen Media" building (I'm guessing the CC is short for Central City.... which would make that the paper Iris started). Stunts were also done Friday night for the roof scene, and you can find a photo of Godspeed hanging off the roof of the building HERE from this photographer HERE UPDATED: 10:10 PM February 21, 2019: There was a night scene as well. In the night scene Grant Gustin and Jessica Parker Kennedy do a scene together in the year 2049. It is a pretty intense scene that contains dialogue from Nora "dad, you dont have to do this. I promise I'll never see Thawne again". So, by episode 18, the secret clearly IS OUT. UPDATED: 12:44 AM February 22, 2019: Added 26 more photos, including many of Grant & Danielle conversing during a break, and Grant & Jessica filming the scene described in the paragraph above. UPDATED: 4:45 AM February 23, 2019: I have added some description & details about the scene shooting on Thursday with Godspeed. I had not originally added it as I tend to stick to a policy of not posting things I did not see. However, a prominent Youtuber managed to get the info and I felt I should at least confirm that I too had that same info, and perhaps clarify a bit more on it. I will have some photos to add of the Godspeed stunt later today. UPDATED: 10:27 PM February 23, 2019: Added 2 photos from local photographer Brittany Charlotte. Her instagram is in the link on her name, so go thank her for the pics, and follow her if you want. I asked her if she would give me a couple more photos that she hasn't posted yet, to give you all a bit more look at the face, and design of the suit. So please give HER all credits when re-posting them. There is also a short synopsis of the scene from her. "Jessica scoots as if she has been running, then Godspeed gets dropped from a height onto the 'Central City Citizen board' ". This scene was shot on the outside of the CBC building late Friday night. The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. If you want to see my past behind the scene shots for The Flash go HERE If you want to see my autograph gallery for The Flash go HERE

The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 517, directed by Rob Greenlea, on Cambie Street, across from Victory Square (Flash fans probably know Victory Square better as the place Savitar kills Iris) in the early part of the day. The crew then moved in to an alley just off Hamilton Street on the other side of the square in downtown Vancouver. The daytime scenes were interesting, although a casual passer by might not have known why (to be honest, I did not either right away). A scene was shot in the morning with the stunt team showing a couple going up to an ATM before it explodes on them, sending the pair flying thru the air. This scene really seemed to have no importance when you see it JUST as the way they filmed it. But later, when they moved to shooting a scene in a minivan you realize why this scene is so interesting. The couple gets out of the minivan, heads to the ATM, and after the accident, a small girl in the minivan screams...... if you have been watching this season much then you are probably already connecting the dots. The young girl in the minivan is of course Islie Hirvonen, better known as Grace Gibbons, the niece of Cicada. It is then clear that what we were watching is the scene where Grace sees her parents get killed. But why? how? Thats a mystery we will have to wait and see. I did not really photograph the couple because I thought they were going to have more work to do, and was waiting for a better angle to appear. Instead, the production re-set with a close tight view of the minivan to capture Graces reaction. I managed to snag 1 photo of Islie after she completed her shooting, and was waiting to get picked up to go back to the trailers. Shortly after this scene ended, a different scene at the ATM took place with a mystery woman in a hoodie. This woman went up, and used the ATM without consequences. Was this to show that not everyone had a problem with the machine? Or, was this woman the reason the machine became a problem for Graces parents? They then filmed scenes where a leaf blower was shooting money through the air. After that short scene, they started filming with main cast. Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon and Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West-Allen shot scenes outside the same ATM machine where the trio seem to be investigating the machine. Cisco at one point seems to vibe the machine, and seems mortified by what he sees. After a couple hours of filming that scene, they wrapped that location, with Jessica & Grant getting wrapped for the day. I managed to get a few Grant Gustin autographs as he left the set, I asked him how he liked working in the Green Arrow costume compared to his own. He said he loved it (he has benn pretty open about how much he dislikes the way his own suit feels), said it was like "working in pyjamas". I then got Carlos Valdes shortly after, as Carlos was walking over to the next location, his day was not done. I tried asking him about the rumour he might be leaving the show, and his reply to it was simply "I'm not the writers", suggesting that it isnt up to him, as much as if the writers decide he is done. The crew went on lunch break after having Carlos and Hartley Sawyer do a quick run through of the scene they were going to do after lunch. After the lunch break, the sun was gone, and it was time to shoot some night scenes. Carlos and Hartley came back from lunch, but they were not dressed in the attire they did the run through in. Instead Hartley was now dressed as Elongated Man, and Carlos was dressed as........ VIBE. Yes, you read that right, by episode 17, Cisco is able to go out dressed as Vibe again. So I am guessing Cicada finds out the truth by then. The pair shoot a scene in an alley where they seem to notice something off to the side of them, and then go towards it. Also, a scene was shot where it appears that Cisco creates a portal and they go thru it. During one unusually longer than usual break between takes, Carlos started dancing in the alley, and it went on for several minutes, while Hartley joined in occasionally a couple times for a few seconds. After Hartley left, I called it a night. So I dont know what might have been filmed after that. Carlos still seemed to be there. Could there be a Vibe VS Cicada scene? Or perhapswe see Vibe doing some solo work? We will all just have to wait and see I guess. The Flash airs on The CW in the U.S. on Tuesdays. The Flash was shooting scenes for episode 515 or 516 in downtown Vancouver for 3 days this week. While little could be seens Wednesday or Friday because the locations were up on parkades. Thursday, the crew was right out on West Georgia Street shooting scenes for the episode. When I first got there, I instantly hear the director blurting out instructions in the scene that had no cast at the time. What caught my attention was the part of "and thats when/where King Shark lands". That is right, he is back. King Shark will be in this episode..... but thats not where this spoiler ends. After what seemed like forever, they finally did a couple more takes, with another tidbit getting dropped shortly after as I heard "Grodd is fighting, and thats when/where King Shark lands". It took me almost no time to realize... this is the King Shark VS Gorilla Grodd fight Nora had alluded to earlier this season. The evening didnt produce a lot of action to see. In fact, I cant even be entirely certain if there was any actors taking the places of Grodd & Shark. I THOUGHT I saw one for Shark on the first take, but I never confirmed it in later shoots. They also didnt do a lot of takes of the scene, even though there wasnt a lot going on in it. Probably a mistake on their behalf, as not long after, a torrential downpour would come A little while later, Grant Gustin as The Flash and Jessica Parker Kennedy as XS were on set doing a scene where they were clearly engaging with 1, or both, of the mutant animals. The speedsters came prepared for a fight with Grodd it seemed, as they had some device on their heads that had ear muffs, and 2 red lights on it.Again, like the earlier scene... no action really took place, just the pair of speedsters standing in the street staring in the same direction saying something. A little while later, Grant left the set for the evening. Signing a few autographs for people, and taking a couple photos with, before going home. Unsure if JPK was still working. The weather was so miserable, I felt it best to call it an evening at that point. They proceeded to film out there for a couple more hours. No clue what/who might have filmed afterwards. The combination of terrible weather, darkness, and filming on 1 of the busiest streets in downtown Vancouver made taking photos very challenging. I quite literally only got 1 set of shots of Grant facing me in the hour or so I stood out there, and the 1 I posted was really the best of the bunch as I was shooting between a passing truck and bus, so the camera didnt really have time to focus fully in on him. The show did celebrate its 100th episode on Saturday night with a party at 1 of Vancouver's best known venues, the Commodore Ballroom. It actually was a busy weekend for the Commodore hosting milestone events for The CW, as Supernatural had their party the night before for their 300th episode. The event was a celebration of their accomplishment, along with a chance to give press people a few tidbits of info for the event. The Flash cast in attendance included Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Hartley Sawyer, Danielle Nicolet, Patrick Sabongui, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Chris Klein. Of course Jesse L Martin was noticeably missing, as he still is recuperating from surgery on a back issue. But the cast of The Flash was not all that showed up, as all 4 Arrowverse shows were represented quite heavily at the party. Arrow had Stephen Amell, Cassandra Amell, David Ramsey, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez and Kirk Acevedo there. Legends Of Tomorrow brought Brandon Routh, Courtney Ford, Jes Macallan, Tala Ashe, Adam Tsekhman and Ramona Young. Supergirl was represented by Melissa Benoist, Katie McGrath, Nicole Maines, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Jesse Rath, and former cast member Chris Wood . A handful of former guest stars were there, along with Elseworlds newcomer LaMonica Garrett. Probably my favorite parts of the evening was a couple things. First, the rent-a-goon "security" team they hired who clearly had never done a celebrity event in their life, and were over reacting to every single person coming in like they thought they were protecting President Obama or something..... and still failed at doing so. Not once, but on 3 different occasions early in the evening, they decided to get confrontational with me about being on a public sidewalk. As I told the first group "its going to be a long night for you" which they tried then telling me no one was going to sign autographs. They lost their will to live pretty quickly, and by the time the celebs were leaving, they weren't even bothering to acknowledge some of them with a half hearted "human chain" that they so intensely created for everyone on the way in, just adding to the annoyance of the celebs who did want to sign when they had to reach over outstretched arms holding hands with another outstretched arm. They were so poorly informed on how to act, and who they were there to "protect" that they were creating human chains for random crew members, and failing to do so when actual actors from the show were leaving. Candice Patton had no one but the people she left with protecting her. Same for Carlos Valdes. No moment more encapsulated the evening of incompetence than when they "protected" Hayes Robbins, the husband of The Flash star Danielle Panabaker, but not Danielle herself. All in all, not the best team. I wouldnt hire them to protect a pie from a child. For the record, the "no autographs" I was promised, was Juuuuuuuust a tad short of accurate. I got every single cast member of The Flash except for Jessica Parker Kennedy, Danielle Nicolet and Chris Klein. The last two, who I did not even have something for. I also got 6 of the other Arrowverse cast. In fact, not one single person that signed that I needed, did they end up stopping me from getting. Usually when a staff tells me I'm not getting anything, they at least succeed on preventing me from getting SOMEONE at some point. I cant recall a team ever failing at every single venture. It was quite something to behold. Second, was the variety of crew, and also 1 actor, who joked that I should be inside, because as 1 of them put it "I think you have spent more time on the set than some of us". I have done several cast parties over the years, and for the most part, crew are always very welcoming to me at these events. It really repeats the point I try to make to people all the time when they think the crews hate us. While I am sure there are some, from every show (because when you have a group of 200+ people working on something.... not everyone is going to be happy about the same things), the vast majority dont have a problem with us, and understand we all have a job to do. As for who hung with who? Obviously the interior of the party was a mystery to me. But as they arrived & left, MOST cast arrived & left on their own. But there were a couple exceptions. Much of The Flash cast were in early, as they had press to do inside before the party. I know that for cast Grant, Hartley, Carlos and Danielle were the last to leave, all leaving around 11:45-11:55ish. While Candice was the first to leave much earlier, and Jessica a little while after. The Arrow cast were some of the latest to arrive, with Stephen, being the first of the cast, and not till after 8. Rick and David arrived together, with Kirk very shortly after them, and Juliana shortly after him. The Legends Of Tomorrow cast was a bit of a mystery to me. They seemed pretty scattered on when they arrived, and left. The only thing I do recall from their cast was Ramona Young was the last one to arrive. For Supergirl, Melissa was the first to leave from any of the shows, even before some people had even got there. While Katie & Nicole seemed to leave with their guests together. The Flash was shooting scenes for season 5 in downtown Vancouver last night. They were in an area known as Plaza Of Nations, which during its heydays used to be an entertainment area with an outdoor concert venue, a couple clubs and a casino. Nowadays, its mostly just a couple large empty buildings and an empty courtyard where the outdoor concert venue was. While many productions have used the facilities over the years, I THINK this is the first time I can recall The Flash there. Anyways, here is a quick video of Grant Gustin in his new Flash suit with Jessica Parker Kennedy in her XS suit doing a scene where they are looking at Central City Picture News before Grant speeds off, leaving Jessica there by herself with onlookers. Lastly, apologies for the short blurry moment. Still have no idea how to stop the camera from trying to focus on things that dont matter. Had it 3 or 4 years, and its still a nuisance. I never really found a good spot to shoot from. One side was bad because of the large white screens which gave everything a sort of "shadow" look, and even with all the brightening in the world, they still are pretty dark. On the other side.... just too much foot traffic in the way, plus the actual extras in the scene. Early in the day the cast & crew shot inside the building with Grant Gustin dressed as Barry Allen. I DID NOT see any other cast confirmed to be in there, but I did see Jessica Parker Kennedy and her double around there, dressed as XS. Whether they were inside filming or not, I cant say. Later, the shoot moved outside, where a crowd of maybe 50 people all well dressed stood, staring at a building in shock and horror. Grant, now dressed as The Flash in his NEW SUIT, was there with XS in the crowd. Suddenly he darts off, leaving his daughter to watch the building, which was dressed up to look like Central City Picture News. Was Iris there? I cant say. I did not see her around, but she could have been there, there was a lot of background people, it was dark, and I was far enough away that outside of those in superhero constumes, couldnt really be sure who was there. As for what I noticed about Grants new suit. Definitely sleeker, seemed less bulky. Seemed a bit brighter to me too, more in tune with how the John Wesley Shipp era Flash suit might have looked. Also, it looks like the top part of his head piece is separate from the rest. How it will look on scree, is still a mystery to be figured out. Guess we'll have to wait till October for that. Based on the date, these SHOULD be for episode 4... but theres a small chance they are for episode 5.
