The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday morning, afternoon and evening for episode 717. The director is Eric Dean Seaton, he directed the The Exorcism Of Nash Wells episode last season. This is also the 150th episode for the series.

There was 2 parts to this blog... if you saw the 1st set of photos previously & think you saw everything in here already, there is a 2nd set of photos at the bottom that were added later.

At this 2nd location, they had Grant Gustin as The Flash, Jessica Parker Kennedy as XS, and Jordan Fisher as Impulse, all on location again with 6 Godspeeds. The scene was vaguely similar to the episode 7x15 set I shot a few weeks ago, except this time Barrys kids were beside him to witness the insanity. The 6 Godspeed clones all seemed to be fighting each other, while the trio of heroes stood, and watched them do it.... then, the trio ran off in different directions. That was it.

The last location of the day took place a block away at (report coming as soon as I have the photos edited) an area they have used a fair bit this season (not exactly where they were, but that general block), in front of the new Parq Hotel, The Douglas Hotel, and the new casino that are at the back of B.C. Place Stadium. With these businesses all either closed, or at severe reduced capacity, it was easy for the to get permission to use this street on a Friday afternoon.

The Douglas was dressed up to say "CC CITIZEN MEDIA", The entrance for the casino said "Powers Technology" which in the comics is a rival of Wayne Enterprises, and the Parq Hotel said "Goode World Studios", which is a reference to te Young Justice animated series, where that company exists.

On set for this scene was Jordan Fisher as Bart Allen / Impulse, and Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West Allen / XS.

The scene I saw shot was a little complicated to follow because of the way they were chopping it up into small parts for the filming. From what I can sort of piece together.... Godspeed is looking menacing, arms up in the air, then ends up getting KO'ed. Then both Godspeed & XS are on the ground (so was XS on the ground all along, and the camera didnt see it the way they were filming?). At some point XS gets up, and then Godspeed sits up does something with his arm that seems like maybe hes trying to make 1 last attempt to do something, before falling back down. Somewhere mixed in all of this is Impulse letting out a couple really loud "Woooo" sounds, and then we see XS & Impulse having a talk with Godspeed out cold behind them. Bart is all happy & seems like hes trying to tell Nora its all good, while Nora seems to be telling him something in a more stern "take this serious" tone. They then look back at the Godspeed on the ground, go back to their convo, then turn around again, and he isnt there. They then walk a bit towards where he should have been, and that was the end of the scene.  Just before I left, they were prepping to do stunts with Noras stunt double, I am assuming that was going to be the part where Nora also ends up down and out on the ground with Godspeed that I saw the after result of.

There was a scene earlier in the day, that set report is HERE

There will be some video from these scenes to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday morning, afternoon and evening for episode 717. The director is Eric Dean Seaton, he directed the The Exorcism Of Nash Wells episode last season. This is also the 150th episode for the series.

On this day, they had 3 locations. The first, was a small quiet, rarely used side street not far from the location they use for S.T.A.R. Labs exteriors, and just a block down the road from where Abra Kadabra was killed by Fuerza earlier this season.

This early morning shoot had Grant Gustin as The Flash, along with returning star Jessica Parker Kennedy as XS, along with recently announced new addition to the cast, Jordan Fisher, as Bart Allen, aka Impulse.

For this scene, they started with stunts, as the stunt double for Impulse did a scene where he, and 1 of the several Godspeeds that were on the set, are thrown across the pavement. Both of them ge tup quickly, and face off, but soon, Impulse finds himself surrounded by a gang of 6 Godspeeds. They raise their arms up, Impulse cowers..... and then the Godspeeds just leave.... a moment later, XS & The Flash come in, and the family have a chat.

There were a couple other scenes done on the day at other locations I will get to in a later blog post sometime this weekend, or early next week.

There will be some video from these scenes to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday evening, and night for episode 715. The director is Geoff Shotz, he directed the Alls Wells That Ends Wells episode earlier this season.

The cast & crew of The Flash were busy in downtown Vancouver Friday, with 3 different location shoots (although 2 of them were across the street from each other)

In the daytime scene, at the CBC building, they were filming a short little scene that had 2 characters on set. But who were these two characters?? Well, one was the returninf fan favorite villain Godspeed. He was joined by..... Godspeed. Yes, there was multiple Godspeeds, and no, it wasnt a cast of 1 being a stand in, or stunt double for the other. They were both in frame for the filming when they were rolling. I dont know how long they hare been filming before I got there. But they shot this scene for about 15-20 minutes while I was there. It essentially had the pair of Godpseeds standing there, looking around for a moment, and that was it. But it gave me a chance to photograph them in the daytime, so I'm okay with whatever the scene was for. In the background of the scene, they has some U.S. flags flying, a sign for the entrance to the Central City Museum, and them a bit further back, was an ad for Big Belly Burger, featuring their uhhh "new double cheeseburger"??? Seriously? I'm supposed to believe a major burger franchise in the U.S. somehow DID NOT have a double cheeseburger on their menu from day one?

Anyways, the crew then crossed the street to the exterior of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, which they have renamed to the Central City Theater. Beside it, they changed a restaurant theres name to "Taco Whiz". Which left me confused. Is it like a Cheese Whiz, but taco flavoured? Or did they name their taco establishment after how fast they will go through your body? In any case, doesnt sound appetizing.

Outside of there,  the crew filmed a few small scenes, all with Grant Gustin or his stunt double Cody Laudan as The Flash. First scene had Cody getting thrown across the lot by a couple of the Godspeeds. It was a short scene, so I saw 1 take of it. So I am unsure if more stunts were done after, as I left for a bit to go fgrab food, and when we came back, they were setting up for the next shot. Grant finally got on set, and did a scene were he comes zipping in, and observing something weird (I'll get to that in a minute), or being surrounded by the Godspeeds, which now totaled 6 for this scene. Yes, you read that right, there was now SIX Godspeed clones (I know on twitter it was said there was 7, but there was 6.... but at the time of the users tweet, it was fair to be mistaken, as they were all moving around before filming). In the scene, all surrounding Barry as he was on the ground. A bit later, the most WTF moment of the night happened. Barry comes zipping into the scene, looks around, and sees the group of Godpseeds..... having a Royal Rumble. The 6 pack og Godspeeds were all fighting each other, in pairs, and Barrys body language seemed to have a n "ummm ok, what?" look to it. After they finished those scenes, they did a bit more of the fighting scene of the Godspeeds, as Grant left for a long break. I also chose to leave at that time, and headed to their 3rd location, unaware at the time I'd be waiting FOREVER for that one to start.

During the break at one point, Grant went over and chatted with a couple of the Godspeeds, which made for a fairly entertaining set of photos, as it looks like hes trying to use the power of love to talk Godspeed out of doing bad things, but it was actually just in between takes.

Down the street about 3 blocks away, they were also set up for The Flash to film at. This one was at B.C. Place Stadium. For those that are observant, you know that is the location they use for the exterior of S.T.A.R. Labs, but, they have also used it for other things. But on this day, it was in fact, S.T.A.R. Labs, as the signage outside B.C. Place showed. Now I spent quite a while there waiting for them to film, and they didnt get to filming till close to 2 AM. When they finally did, there was nearly nothing to be seen. So little, that the few photos I did get it I didnt think were worth even posting. All I can confirm from the scenes there, The Flash was there, some of the Godspeeds were there, and at some point The Flash is on the ground.

So thats it for this busy night of filming there. Godspeed is back!!! Are you excited?

There will be some video from this nights shoot to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Thursday & Friday for episode 11 in a commonly used area, the 1000 block of West Hastings, which includes the commonly used Oceanic Plaza (Flash fans will remember this as where King Shark tried killing Barry in their first meeting... aka Porter Plaza.). I broke the reports on these days down into two blogs, The first one, a daytime scene is HERE. The night shoots are in this post.

On the first day, after the daytime scene they shot in that earlier blog post, they moved 1/2 block down the street to in front of Oceanic Plaza. There they did some stunts. On set was the stunt team for The Flash, and the two people mentioned in the previous blog, which at this time I dont know which characters they are. But ONE was Michelle Harrison, who in the past has played Nora Allen, Joan Garrick, and the Speed Force..... so your guess is as good as mine on who she is now. The other is now ID'ed as Christian Magby (source: HERE ) that is dressed in the school sports jacket you see below. I have seen a couple social media posts based off yesterdays photos suggesting this could be a character named "Steadfast" that is part of the Still Force based off the logo on his jacket. But at this time I DO NOT know if that is true. The trio did a stunt where Barrys stunt double Cody Laudan, & the unknown actors stunt double were facing Michelles stunt double. Christians double does something with his hands that looks like he is trying to direct something at Michelles doubles character. A moment later, all 3 of them are sent flying backwards from where they were standing.

A little while later, the stunt team wrapped their work, and the actors came in. Grant Gustin joined Michelle & Christian on set. They continued shooting the scene with the dialogue part of the scene.

After that, Grant, Michelle, and Christian moved up to the top plaza of Oceanic Plaza to do a scene with 2 others. One of the two is Ennis Esmer who is playing "Psych" that I told you about in these previous blog posts HERE and HERE. This time however, he was maskless. The other, was a younger girl that I now believe to be Sara Alicia Garcia. The 4 of them walked together in a line through the court yard, eventually stopping. Then The Flash walks over to them, and there is a brief interaction between Flash & Michelles character (who after this scene I am starting to think is Nora somehow), before he falls to the ground momentarily. Michelle then reaches down, and picks him up. They look at each other, and then hug. A moment later, Michelles character invites the other 3 over, and The Flash seems to be friendly with them.
On the second day they were back down on the street level where the stunt from the night earlier was done. This time, the entire group from the last scene the night before was there. Christian, Sara, and Ennis, were lined up with The Flash, facing Michelles character for most of the scenes.  At one point they do a scene where The Flash turns around, facing the same direction Michelles character is facing, and yells at something up high & says "I did what you asked". There also was a scene done where the whole group looked in 1 direction, up high.

I also added 2 other photos at the end. They were actually set piece photos. One of a Central City Cab, but the more interesting one, which features the Porter Plaza placard that you may remember from that King Shark episode I referenced earlier, also show a banner right next to it that says "Quickstart Enterprises" which is a TV channel that Johnny Quick (Chambers) and Jesse Quick (Chambers) run in the comics.

UPDATE: March 26, 2021 (6:30 PM) - Name of the previously unknown actors is now updated. Christian Magby, and Sara Garcia.

There will be some video from this nights shoot to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Wednesday in a place I had just seen them in 2 months earlier. This time however, they were filming on the outside of the building, as opposed to the last time when I could only see snippets of what was going on through the frosted glass on the windows.

This episode is being directed by Philip Chipera, in his 4th gig with the show (he was the director of last years unexpected season finale episode, and 2 in 2018).

On this day, they were shooting scenes in front of the Westin Bayshore Hotel, which was made this time to look like a place called the "La Salle Building". Why were they there? Who knows. But they shot a couple different sets of scenes there.

The first scene was a stunt scene (I didnt stay around for it as I was working 2 sets just a few blocks apart from each other at the same time) with Cody Laudan in The Flash attire. When I returned a couple hours later, Grant Gustin was then on set as The Flash.

The scene had The Flash seemingly unable to move forward, before moving backwards. Then a person who I had seen on set 2 months earlier, started walking towards where The Flash just was, before stopping and wiping his hands against each other in that "mission accomplished" way people do that. That character is Psych, played by Ennis Esmer.

With a daytime scene, I was able to get much more clear, and detailed photos of the Psych outfit. You can now see more of the details in his mask, and that he seems to wear purple gloves as well.

That was then the end of their scene, and the next set was getting set up.

In the later scene, Candice Patton was there as Iris West Allen, along with Victoria Park as Kamilla Hwang, and Kayla Compton as Allegra Garcia, to shoot a scene of the trio seemingly working as "Team Citizen" for the blog Iris started up, the Central City Citizen.

In the scene, the trio walk towards a limo that is pulling up at the front doors of the building. A well dressed woman is there, and Team Citizen stop to talk to the woman, and Kamilla seems to show her something that seems to maybe be on a phone. The woman walks away from them, and is then confronted by Psych. The woman & Psych have a conversation that at times seems friendly, but then in the end Psych does something to cause the mystery woman to crumble to the ground, much like The Flash did a couple months earlier when I saw them at a different set. Then they did a cut where Iris is suddenly 20-30 feet closer to where the woman & Psych were,  from where she was.

They had a bit more time to shoot that day, but I didnt see any sign that anything substantially different might be getting filmed, so I called it a day.

There will be some video from this nights shoot to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash season 7 will air Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. starting February 23, 2021.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Wednesday in 3 different spots around downtown Vancouver.

In the morning, and early afternoon, they were shooting in the conference centre part of the Bayshore Hotel, near Stanley Park. Because of the position of some of the cranes, and the part they were actually in, there was almost nothing to see from this location. Only details I can pass along is, the scene had a bunch of blinking strobe lights going on, and Grant Gustin was on set as The Flash. I also briefly saw Carlos Valdes as he left at the end of the shoot, but never saw him in the scene. I know 1 of the two Danielles was on set, as I heard them reference her wrapping, but I dont know if it was Danielle Panabaker, or Danielle Nicolet. At one point as many as 6 different cast style transportation vehicles were waiting around, so there could have been more. The set up there, left it a bit of a challenge to figure out much of anything.

I saw Grant on a break, and as he was leaving. Besides that, I saw him inside for brief moments through a small break between the equipment, trees, and frosted glass. I also saw an unknown guy being led by a crew member back to set all covered up. So I added 1 photo of him in there too, in case he turns out to be something, but he could just be a background character... but they rarely escort background to & from sets.

The one detail from the shoot that DID catch my attention is.... what is The Flash wearing on the front of his head in the 1st photo? Is this the same device he had on when he was trying to prevent Grodd from controlling him.

They would wrap this location around 3 PMish, and move across the downtown core to two other locations they would shoot night scenes for.

For the evening shoots. There was two different sets going on at the exact same time.

I walked by the B.C. Place set 1st, but it didnt look like they were close to starting, so I went to check out the other location at the Vancouver Public Library. At that location, they were already under way... or at least further along in their process. They had Cody Laudan out there in The Flash costume getting ready to do a stunt as The Flash where he gets thrown across the grounds. After they did this short stunt, the team took a while to set up for the next take, so I went back to the other set. On that set, I had to laugh that they covered up 1 real construction crews banners, with their own for "Central Construction".

Outside B.C. Place Stadium (aka - the exterior location for S.T.A.R. Labs ) the crew worked on scene out on the sidewalk part, far enough away from the stadium that its probably not playing into this scene. The first thing I saw there when I got there was a guy in a wardrobe jacket being led away from the set. At first glance (which was short, and from quite a distance.... I actually thought it was 1 of the Samuroids from season 4 at first glance, till I looked at my camera after. After seeing this mystery character, I waited around for him to return..... only to keep getting teased with him walking to & from set with the jacket covering him, but not actually shooting. While he was off, they filmed a scene with a single actress walking along on the phone with a coffee, wearing a Jitters shirt. She clearly sees this mystery character, screams, drops her coffee, and runs away.

Finally, a bit later, they did a scene with the mystery character. Imagine my surprise when after not having a wardrobe jacket covering him, I saw he was dressed like a member of the ancient Roman Army. It bears repeating, this is a Flash set, not Legends Of Tomorrow. The scene is even sillier than it already sounds, as this Roman army guy runs across the grounds at a group of guys, and swings his sword around, seemingly killing them, before turning around celebrating by throwing his hands in the air, and putting his sword away..... if you can make sense of that scene, you are doing better than me at this.

After that insanity, I went back to the other location where I knew The Flash was working, and I thought, would get some sense of normalcy again. Silly me. When I got there they were setting up to do a scene where The Flash, with Grant now on set as him, comes zipping in, and faces.... someone or something? The director was yelling instructions to him over a loudspeaker, telling him its a nightmare, and he cant escape it, and at some point he is overcome by something and ends up on the ground. While all this is going on, a man in a random red & black halloween looking mask also appears, before disappearing. A bit later, they filmed scenes of just the mystery masked man close ups, before wrapping for the night.

EDIT: March 12, 2021 - Actor in the red & black mask has been identified as Ennis Esmer, and the character is Psych.

This is certainly going to go down as the oddest set for The Flash I will have covered to date.

There will be some video from this nights shoot to post in the next couple weeks, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.

The Flash season 7 will air Tuesday nights on The CW in the U.S. starting February 23, 2021.

The Flash was on location for season 7 shooting on Friday under neath the Cambie Bridge, just a couple blocks from where my last set report for The Flash came from.

On this night, they were filming a scene in a corner of a park that they had made to look more like a parking lot (which I find a little funny, in that you'd think they coulda just rented a parking lot to look like a parking lot).

The crew was being more active than usual at trying to minimize views for passer bys. It was in a busy residential area, and path way for bicyclists & people out for walks, as it was less than 100 metres from a creek that people often walk along in the city. As the night went on, it became pretty clear they were trying a little harder to try and block me. To be fair, I was probably the only one there through most of the night actually with any type of device larger than a cell phone.

The first scene I saw shot had Grant Gustin as The Flash doing a scene with a returning guest star from a few seasons ago. David Dastmalchian was back as Abra Kadabra. As Pursuit23 had stated 2 weeks earlier on twitter, David was back in Vancouver, and the timing of his arrival, and the mandatory 14 day quarantine just happened to line up with this episodes filming. The scene had The Flash laying on the ground at one point, before getting up, yelling "What have you done?" at Abra Kadabra before doing his patented lightning throw move. Whether or not he hits Abra Kadabra is unknown, as the way the production had the area covered only gave partial looks at the scene. A bit later they did a portion of the scene that I feel comes before that based on where Grant & David were standing, where Abra Kadabra seems to be using his wand to do something.

A bit later, they did a scene (that I only got to see a rehearsal for before I was asked to move from where I was) where a large person standing on stilts, and wearing a massive foam tube shaped hat (last season I called him "tall Abraham Lincoln" because of his hat in a post) on his head. I have only seen them use this set up 1 other time on set. Last season, to stand in for the shape of Bloodwork. When they are doing large CGI built creatures like that, they need a reference point for the actor to look for, so they usually get someone to wear something extra long on their head to give the actor that point. So he COULD possibly be another large character, but since I have not seen them use this specific design, right down to the costume he had on for any other characters, I FEEL it could be the return of Bloodwork.... but I do NOT know that to be a certainty.

In this scene, it simply had this massive character seemingly grabbing The Flash in some sort of bear hug move, before letting him go. It did not seem like a long scene. But the actor playing that character did seem to stick around for the later scene, but I could not see from the vantage point I finally had when filming started, if/how, he might have been used in the scene.

The final scenes of the night, had Cody Laudan (Grants stunt double) filling in as The Flash for scenes where Grants face and voice were not needed since the camera focused on Abra Kadabra. In early rehearsals, it seemed tall Abe Lincoln was behind Abra Kadabra by like 10-20 metres, but I never saw if during the actual filming of the scene he was still there. They had 1 other scene, that I dont really know what it was, as I saw no apparent action happening in it. But it had tall Abe and The Flash standing a couple feet apart, with The Flash on a pile of milk crates to be close to the height of tall Abe. The one last scene they shot for the night was again Cody doing a small stunt where he jumps off a pile of milk crates (no sign of Abe around for it), and lands in what appeared to be a bag of some type (it was flat on the ground, so it could have just been a mat, but it seemed to have more shape to it than that).

Right after that, they wrapped for the night. Before they left, I went and tried to get a couple of close up shots of some posts they had out there, because they had decorated them with some seemingly fake looking music posters. The band names I was able to make out were "Second Unit", and "Sickada". There were a couple more, but I didnt realize till I got him that the shots I got of them were not good. I also got 1 other photo of something, which I am not posting till I can find out if it is okay with someone else to post. No big spoiler, just an interesting observation. But I am going to wait till I hear back from someone first before I post that. It is a VERY rare occurrence on a Friday night to wrap early enough for me to be home by Midnight, as most Friday shoots often go till 2,3,4,5 AM.

There will be some video from this nights shoot to post in the next week or 2, so come back to find those then, or you can subscribe to my Youtube channel and get them there when they drop.
UPDATE: Decemeber 13, 2020 - Video from that nights shoot has now been added below.
